A/N: Does anybody even read this book anymore? Oh well, I've written 50 goddamn chapters and I love this story, no way in hell am I giving up now. Actually, I think about two (maybe three) people still read this so thank you for surviving this mess of a book.

Piper's POV:

The catacombs were just how I remembered them; dark and long.

Merlin did his little trick where he lit up all the torches and started leading.

I was at the back, next to a perfectly fine Nixie.

"So.." I started. "Your leg seems to have healed pretty fast, don'tcha think?" Her eyes widened just a fraction and she very forcefully started limping again.

"Yeah, it's uh.. Getting better." She chuckled nervously. I stuck out my leg and swiped my foot under hers. Nixie's 'good leg' lost balance and she instinctively hopped onto her 'bad leg', it causing her no discomfort at all.

"I knew it." I muttered. She looked like a deer caught in headlights, huffing before standing up normally.

"Okay, fine! I admit it. I've been faking." She mumbled.

"Wait, faking? You mean the injury? Or the fact that you still had it?" I asked.

"Both." Nixie admitted. "After I got let out it was completely fine. The nurses just looked to it as a miracle, but I knew better. I didn't want anyone getting suspicious so I pretended even though it had healed I still couldn't walk properly. The nurses gave me crutches that I didn't really need and here I am." While she was talking she started unwrapping the bandages around her thigh.

Nothing.

There was nothing, not even a scar.

"Now, I've never been shot before or known anybody who has, but I know it would leave something behind." She muttered.

"Where are the crutches anyway?" I asked her.

"No clue, I think I lost them last night during the while 'chandelier incident'. No one seems to have noticed, and if they have they haven't said anything, so I'm just gonna go with it." Nixie shrugged.

"Nixie! You coming?" Ace called from somewhere near the middle.

"Yeah, hold on!" She turned to me. "Promise you won't tell anyone?"

"Promise." I rolled my eyes, smiling. She knows I can keep a secret. She ran up to Ace I was left alone to my thoughts.

'Oh yeah, sure, just pretend I'm not here!"

Ghastly grumbled in my head.

'I thought you said you'd stop reading my thoughts now that I can talk to you!'

'Sorry, force of habit. Off topic, you do realize what happened with blue yes over there, right?'

'You mean Nixie?'

'Same thing'

'It's the darkness,' I thought to him. 'Isn't it?'

'Bingo.'

'What even is that anyways?' I asked.

'Never mind that, what you need to worry about is the prophecy.'
