Piper's POV:
I snuck back into the tent right before Micha woke up. I pretend to sleepily sit up and yawn (A/N I yawned while writing that XD)
"Morning," I said through the yawn, rubbing my eyes.
"ugh what time is it?" she groaned then covered her face with her pillow.
" 'Bout 6, why?" I dragged to her feet and out of the tent so she wouldn't go back to sleep.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Do we really have to wake up this early for school?" Micha shouted. She ended up waking Bob and Lenny with her complaints.
"What's going on?" Bob said, half-awake.
"She's just upset because school starts early." I sighed. "Now, quit moping and get ready." I pushed her into the shack on the edge of the camp. Lenny built it with two rooms and locks on the doors so it could act as a changing room for me and Micha. One room was for her and the other was mine, so it was also where we kept our clothes, jewellery and stuff like that. It was pretty big for a shack.
I put on my grey hoodie and matching sweatpants. I slipped on my brown combat boots that went up just below my knee. Then I remembered something. I had only a few faint memories of my mom. But, I did have one blurry memory of my dad too. I never knew what exactly happened to him. The memory of my dad was when I was a baby. He gave me a box and inside was a necklace with a nether star attached to it. Looking back I realised how expensive that must have been. I couldn't remember who my dad was or what he looked like. I was even slowly starting to forget my mom. The necklace was the only thing I had left of them. As I picked up the very same box with the necklace in it. Memories came flooding back of a riot and fire. Broken memories of traumatic events that happened before I arrived at the orphanage. I snapped back to reality when I heard Micha banging on the door. I looked in the mirror and saw a tear roll down my cheek. Quickly, I wiped it away and put it on. I smiled. It was a new day and a new start.
After opening the door Micha pulled me towards the fire. Man, she sure was excited considering how terrified she was last night. Micha was wearing her blue wolf shirt and black skort. She also had her red high tops on. She had her tail in but her ears were still sticking through her scruffy hair. I grabbed the fish which had been cooking above the fire. Once I wolfed down the fish, I ran to my tent and started packing my black rucksack. I packed a notebook, stationary and my weapons. I wasn't sure the bow and sword were gonna fit but surprisingly they did. You couldn't even tell they were in there from the outside. Must be enchanted I thought. Why was I taking weapons to school? Because Bob and Lenny told me to never leave camp without them. I trust those numbskulls. I slipped my arrows into a special quiver like pocket in my bag. I zipped it closed and once again from the outside it looked completely inconspicuous.
As I walked of the tent I saw Micha waiting for me, ready. We both took turns giving the skeletons hugs. We were about to leave until Bob called me back.
"Did you remember your sword and bow?" He pointed to the bag.
"And the quiver ." I said, glancing at Lenny.
"Good. Remember, you never know when they could come in handy." He smiled.
"Hey guys?" Micha came up behind me.
"Yeah?" I turned to her.
"Where is the school exactly?" Now that she mentioned it, we didn't exactly know where we were going. Lenny looked at Bob while Bob face palmed.
"Kids, wait here while I get you a 'tour guide'" he said before running off into the dense forest.
Lenny snickered while me and Micha sighed and dropped down to the grass before lying down. We had gotten ready in 10 minutes. We had a while before we HAD to leave for school, so we decided to just relax.
