Savannah's POV:
"PIPER!" I called and attempted to run after her but Remeer stopped me.
"Let her go Sav, she needs some time to herself." He told me. I turned to see Echo fuming in the corner.
"What is wrong with you?" I stormed up to her. "What makes you think you have any right to talk to her like that?! She has been through hell and back again more times than you could ever imagine." She looked shocked considering I usually had a calm and cheerful demeanor. I guess they never saw me that mad before.
"If she was lying the whole time how can I be sure we can trust her?!" Echo retorted, getting over it in a few seconds.
"Wha-" Is she joking? "THIS GIRL JUST SAW HER SISTER GET ATTACKED AND THINKS SHE'LL DIE, AND WHAT YOU CARE ABOUT IS THE FACT THAT 'YOU CAN'T TRUST HER'?!" I took a deep breath once I realized I was yelling and calmed down. "I'm sorry but I'm not going to let you get away with hurting my friend like that." I glared at her then marched back to Remeer before I did something rash. Or in other words, 'Nixie-like'.
Echo's POV:
"What was that?" Eli's tone was serious, and not carefree like usual. I couldn't look at him. "Echo. What. Was. That."
"I don't know," When he waited for me to reply I took a deep breath. "From the second I saw her, I felt strange about her. I thought it was instinct so I kept an eye on Piper. When she hadn't done anything, even with the countless opportunities to do so, I relaxed. But when I saw her fighting, when I saw that she had been lying and keeping secrets- even if for the right reason- something in me gave way. I didn't really know what I was saying until I said it. " His face softened when he saw how I felt.
"In a twisted way," I started. "It almost felt natural to fight with her like that. Like we were supposed to..." I stopped.
"Supposed to what?" Eli scrunched his eyebrows. One word ran through my mind.
Hate...
I shook my head.
"Nevermind that," I changed the subject. "Just know that I still don't trust her, but I do feel a little bad about being so mean about it."
"A little?"
"Fine! Fine. A lot." My head drooped.
"Merlin where are you going?" Ace got my attention. Merlin was stomping his way through the corridor.
"Where am I going? Where am I GOING?" I had never seen him this mad before. He turned to me. "I'M GOING to fix the mess you started." And with that he slammed his staff on the ground and disappeared in a cloud of green smoke. Leaving behind a crack in the floor where his staff had come in contact with.
Piper's POV:
My feet thudded against the ground in time with my heart. The sound of the dry leaves crackling pierced through the night and made me cringe. Can't stop now.. I shut my eyes as branches whipped past my face, scratching my skin and digging into cuts from the previous battle. It stung but I didn't care. As soon as I reached a clearing I collapsed in front of a tree and dug my face into my knees.
"Huh?" My voice was a whisper as I felt my face was wet. "I'm crying?" I didn't even realize. I wiped the tears off my face and looked at my hand. I stiffened as I noticed that, just like my eyes, the tears were softly glowing a silver too. Looking around, I saw I was in a small circle of a clearing, no more then about ten blocks wide. I remember back at camp, whenever one of us was feeling down... We'd sing a song. It was the only way to cheer Micha up, and the only way to put her to sleep when we were younger. I leaned my back against the tree and squeezed my eyes shut, softly singing the words to a once forgotten lullaby.
