Piper's POV:

"RIGHT!" I dodged a rock by taking a shoulder roll left.

"LEFT!" Echo barked once more. She used her telekinetic powers- which she apparently had had from the start, perks of being Notch's kid I guess -to hurtle another rock about the size of a football my way.

"JUMP!" I jumped up, expecting to avoid her swiping at my feet with her axe. But instead, I felt the wind being knocked out of me as something slammed into my gut.

Grunting, I was flung back to the ground.

"Echo, what the nether?" I grumbled, clutching my stomach.

"You can't expect me to guide you through everything. You gotta rely on your instincts and not just instructions." She crossed her arms. By the looks of it, she had got me with the stick of her axe.

'It is an important lesson to learn,'

Ghastly reasoned.

'But does she have to be so rough?'

I remembered it being something Bob had told me, but I was using a sword instead of just powers.

Speaking of which, my weapons had been, very much against my will, cast aside on the grass. Micha was guarding it, mainly because she was one of the few I trusted to make sure it didn't get lost or break.

"From the top-"

"Who are you, an army chief?" I rolled my eyes at her.

"Keep talking and you can forget training." She threatened, half-heartedly. "Now, could we please focus on-" Echo didn't finish, a rumble of lightning interrupted her. It struck down, just behind her, startling Echo in the process. "Woah!" She stumbled back, landing on her butt. The lightning barely charred the ends of her clothes, so I nearly laughed. The 'nearly' wouldn't be there if not for the fact that her hands had landed right in a fire left behind after the lightning. With a scream, she pulled them out. We were all still registering what was happening.

Her hands were burnt.

Donnie was the first to rush over to her, followed by Eli and myself. I grabbed her wrist, just under the burn and looked at it. Kneeling next to her, I turned to see Merlin using a water spell to put out the fire, but the damage was already done. My side felt a little warm, the after heat of the fire.

Echo was gritting her teeth, shouting out swear words. Quinn covered Donnie's fox ears meanwhile. I would've done the same for Micha, but she already knew all of them.

I mean, the two of us had seen when Bob was building the shack and hit his thumb-bone with the hammer instead of the nail. Let's just say, no amount of Lenny covering our ears could block that out.

"We gotta go." Remeer mumbled. "No way the guards didn't hear that colorful language." Echo glared up at him, but even with her being in pain, she didn't argue. Eli pulled her up by the arm and we ran back. She could run and walk fine, yet Eli still kept his hand secure just above her elbow.

"Wait-Shoot, my stuff!" I muttered, stopping.

"Gotcha covered!" Micha came up behind me and tossed me the quiver and bow before handing the sword to me. "Now let's go!"

It was hard to keep up with her, being part wolf and all, so she slowed down a bit to make it a little easier on me.

Emphasis on 'a little'.
