Piper's POV:
'Uh oh. I'm doomed.'
For some reason, I now knew who was talking in my head.
"Ghastly...Is that you?" I sounded surprisingly calm, considering there was literally a floating book in my face, showing a prophecy that the people in my dream predicted.
"Heh. Y-you just controlled that book, and right now you're trying to talk to the guy IN the book?" Nixie looked at me as I turned to the others.
'Okay, breath, C-I mean Ghastly, breath.'
"Ghastly?" Micha cocked her head and looked around.
"I-I can hear him." I slowly shook my head, still letting everything sink in. One second I was in a strange dream and the next a million questions had piled up in my mind.
"Woah, woah, woah, hold up." Sav got our attention. "I don't know what the heck is going on but usually when things like this happen, someone has had something weird happen to them beforehand. Whoever it is this time, talk." I sighed and sat on the couch. Nix leaned against the wall, Micha sat next to me and Remeer and Sav sat on the bay window. Somehow able to ignore the book, still suspended in mid air.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"...Then Echo woke me up and that brings us to where we are now." I finished my story.
"What was all that stuff about you reaching a 'higher level'?" Remeer made quote marks with his hands.
"It can't be a coincidence." Sav said, deep in thought.
"I got it!" Nixie snapped her fingers and grabbed the book, closing it. It stopped glowing. "What if the spirits were talking about you unlocking more powers? Y'know.. Higher level. Higher magic level."
"I don't know if you'd call it 'magic'." I interrupted.
"Whatever! Just shut up and make this thing float, already." Without warning, Nixie threw the book at my face. I held out my arm while I stood, and once again the book froze.
"How do you feel?" Micha looked at me with worriness in her eyes. I could tell she didn't want me to exhaust myself like I did the first time I tried it.
"Perfectly fine.." I stared at my hand. I opened the book to the translator and started walking around as I read it aloud;
Piper.. I'm going to do something and I need you to tell me what I said.
Everyone paused and waited.
'There's no going back now. You need to read The prophecy and figure out what it means. A lot depends on you. I guess the spirits wanted to give you a little notice in advance.'
It was him again, but I could hear his voice in my head. I know it sounded crazy but telepathy was probably the least strange thing about this situation.
"You didn't say anything that I didn't already know." I sighed and looked back up at the book. I could tell the others didn't understand what I meant. "So, now I have telekinesis, some kind of telepathy that's only between me an the book guy and all I have to do is dive into a huge adventure, so cryptic I don't even know how in the name of Notch I ended up in this mess? Alright, let's take a look at this thing, shall we?" I took a seat in one of the beanbags in the corner of the room. Evie had found them the other day and put them in here so I had something softer to sleep on. But Quinn liked to stay up late reading on them and I didn't mind sleeping in my sleeping bag, so I let her turn it into her 'Book nook'.
