Piper's POV:
We made our way downstairs to see Evie at the bottom of it.
"Ah, glad you're here." Her smile only made me more uneasy.
"Is everything alright?" I tried my best to sound calm.
"Oh, yes, of course!" Her tone changed when she said that. Something was wrong, but of course I pretended like it wasn't.
"Sooo why'd you call us down here Evie?" Nixie asked, dragging the 'So'. She was just as skeptical about this as I was.
"Jeb thought it would be a good idea for you to meet everyone in the castle." Evie gestured for us to follow her.
"But we already have, haven't we?" Remeer glanced at Savannah and she shrugged.
"Not quite. You still have yet to meet the blacksmith, the medics and the head guard. Speaking of which, that's who we're going to see now." She lead us down a few hallways to the front room, where the entrance of the castle was.
"Why exactly?" Micha folded her arms.
"Because, there's a new apprentice guard coming in today. It's a boy your age." Evie stopped and turned to us. "Now that that's settled, I need to speak with Notch. You go on and do whatever you want but be nice once they get here, make him feel welcomed." She then left.
"GET BACK HERE ELI!!" Merlin's voice echoed from the hallway. A second later, Eli came running in, wearing his blue pointed wizard hat.
"Hey look! I can do magic too, see!" He waved his arms around as Merl tried to grab it. But Eli teleported to the other side of the room before he could.
"Give it back, dude." Merlin growled. Eli laughed and made a break for the door.
"I've had enough of this." I muttered and stuck my leg out so he tripped. "You two can't go one second without fighting like children, can you?" I picked up the hat and threw it to Merlin. "Here, Merl."
"Thanks." He rubbed the back of his neck.
Knock! Knock!
"I'LL GET IT!" Donnie shouted from upstairs. She ran out from the corner and slid down the railing before opening the door, just enough to see who it was. "Bod! You're back!" Donnie grinned and jumped excitedly. "Who's this?"
"The new apprentice." A man's voice came from behind the door. Donnie started to open the door fully but was interrupted by the boys.
"Got it!" Eli swiped the hat off Merl's head and ran behind me with it.
"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?" Merlin glared at him.
"Seriously?!" I snatched it away from Eli.
"Oh come on Pipe! Don't tell me this doesn't look like fun." He smirked and pointed to the hat. "Y'know you want to.." I knew what he was implying and actually considered it. Do I really want to pick on Merlin..? Yep. I felt a grin creep up onto my face.
"Mine now." I put it on my head.
"Traitor!" Merl barked at me. I laughed as he chased me in circles around the room. I was so busy trying to outrun him that I wasn't looking where I was going. I ended up tripping on something and, while making an attempt to grab hold of something to catch myself, accidentally gripped onto Merlin's cloak and dragged him down with me. We both landed on our backs next to each other.
"Ouch." I grumbled.
"This is your fault." He glared at me. I looked up to see Echo standing there with her foot sticking out.
