Piper's POV:

Echo led us to where she lived, she was explaining that her Dad was busy working most of the time and so was Ace's.

"Don't worry, my Dad won't mind you guys staying. He actually isn't home right now.  He went with his brother and his best friend, who is also Ace's dad, to resolve some issue- And here we are!" I tried turning my attention to the house but instead crashed into Remeer who was standing still, staring at whatever was in front of him.

"Ouch! Dude!" I looked up at him, rubbing my head.

"Piper. Look." He replied. I got to my feet and stepped forward. It was astounding! Instead of just a house, there was an entire golden CASTLE. It was huge.

"YOU LIVE IN A CASTLE! HOW?" Savannah gasped.

"Our Dads." Ace shrugged. "Now, shall we go in?" We all nodded, still in awe of our new 'home'. At least, for a little while. The inside was beautiful. There were paintings of flowers and the walls were made of pure gold much like the outside. Under our feet lay a red velvet carpet lined with-you guessed it. Gold!  And above our heads hung a chandelier. The colour of it pretty much goes without saying. There was also a staircase leading up along a corridor. I had a feeling that even though this room was gigantic, we had barely scratched the surface of what awaited in this castle.

"Come on, I'll give you the tour!" Donnie piped up, jumping up and down. She grabbed Micha's hand and pulled her into the next room with us following.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donnie finished the tour at our rooms. Apparently today the castle was pretty much empty.

"The girls will being staying in here and Remeer, you'll be rooming with Echo's brother." She told us.

"Wouldn't he be your brother too?" I asked.

"We found Donnie in a nearby village, starving. My dad took her in. We're not related but I consider her a sister since I took care of her. My brother wasn't around her too much so he doesn't really consider her HIS family. Although, he still is nice to her." Echo explained as she opened the door. It was a room with two floors in it. Upstairs there were 3 beds and a bathroom. Downstairs there were 2 beds, a couch and a bay window.

"One problem. There aren't enough beds." Nixie pointed out. She was right, there were 7 girls with only 5 beds.

"I could sleep on the couch." Sav said as she sat it, testing it out. "Seems comfy enough."

"Micha, Nixie, you take the beds I'll sleep on the floor." I said.

"Are you sure?" Echo looked worried.

"I brought my sleeping bag with me. It'll be just like home." Donnie, Ace and Echo gave me strange looks. "I used to go camping a lot." I quickly added. They hesitantly nodded and went to their beds. I set up my stuff in a corner of the room and Ace showed Remeer where his room was. Soon everyone went to sleep while I lay there, still thinking about how much I missed the skeletons. But after what felt like hours, clutching by bow and sword tightly, I slowly slipped into darkness.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey. You awake yet?" I heard someone quietly whisper in my ear. Startled, I pinned the person to the wall with my sword. I noticed he looked a lot like Echo apart from his hair being only black and his eyes both being dark blue. The boy looked around 14.

"Do you always have to do this to my family?" I heard Donnie sigh from behind. Now that I was fully awake, it clicked in my head.

"Let me guess," I smiled sheepishly. "You're the brother aren't you?"

"Yes. Mind putting me down?" I let him go and put my weapons back in their places.

"Why do you sleep with those?" Ace questioned, pointing to my bow and sword.

"Like I said. I used to camping a lot. You never know when you'll be attacked while your sleeping by-" I paused and bit my tongue.

"mobs." I despised saying that but if I didn't want to go on the run again, I had to pretend to be normal. Ha. NORMAL, ordinary, standard. Yeah right. But I had to pretend.

"Smart. I'm Eli. Now, if you three twerps can handle these newcomers here," Echo's brother, Eli, said to Echo, Donnie and Ace. "Then I'll be on my way to the training grounds." He did a playful bow and left.

"Training grounds?" I raised my eyebrow.

"He wants to be a guard. C'mon. It's time for breakfast. Your friends and Sis are already there and we want you to meet everyone in the castle." Echo dragged me out the door and through the maze of hallways. After getting lost a couple of times, we made it to the dining hall. There were large colourful stained-glass windows on all the walls and a long table in the centre. Micha, Nixie, Remeer and Sav were all there. At the head of the table sat a woman. She was young but at least 20. Flashbacks to the orphanage came into my mind and I realized that this woman looked like a younger version of Rosalyn. The jet black hair, the violet eyes. The only thing that was different was that this person looked kinder. While for Rosalyn you could easily see the hatred in her eyes. There was also a girl sitting down who I didn't recognize. She was once again about my age, had long, straight, chocolate brown hair and dark brown eyes. I sat down next to Micha, still unsettled by the Rosalyn look-alike, and could see Micha felt the same.

"Evie," Ace addressed the head of the table. "Quinn," She then turned to the girl. "This is Piper." She finished.

"Hi." I waved.

"Well it's nice to meet you." Evie gave me a genuine smile. I could tell she was nice but it was going to take some getting used to. "I'm a friend of Echo's dad. Sooo he put me in charge until he came back."

"And as she said," The girl spoke. "I'm Quinn. Echo's cousin." It seemed like the people here were friendly to say the least.

"Now you've met everyone! Well, apart from My Dad and the people who went with him. Then there are a few guards but you'll probably get introduced to them later." Echo said.

"Guards? Why would you have guards?" Remeer asked. "Is it something to do with your father again? Who, by the way, we still don't know anything about or how he managed to get a castle."

"He's right. You do seem to be avoiding the subject." Sav joined in.

"Don't worry, you'll find out all in due time. I suppose if Echo and Ace haven't mentioned it already, there's a good reason for it. Now can we all just enjoy breakfast?" Evie covered for her.

"Fine." Micha, me and the rest of our friends replied and continued eating what was on our plate.
