Stutter | Clancee X Reader

(A/N: I legitimately forgot about the Pirates being in this book. I've been spamming you people with Ghosts XD)

You listened to the sound of the night breeze as you silently swept through your village, attempting to find the crook who stole your necklace, which was the only thing you had from your family who lived on the other side of NinjaGo.

"I f-f-feel a little mean about th-this... I mean, w-w-what if the g-girl treasures th-this?"

"Keep quiet, or you'll give us away, snake-breath."

You followed the sound of the voices and peeked around the corner to see a man and a serpentine. The man wore an emerald-green scarf with a matching helmet, gray goggles, and a casual orange jacket. He had a gun strapped to his belt.

If you're gonna wear such ridiculous headgear, why bother trying to blend in? you thought.

The serpentine, on the other hand, looked like a perfect 50-50 hybrid between an Anacondrai and a Venomari. He had green scales, the body shape of an Anacondrai, two eyes that were the glowing yellow of a Venomari's, and stood on two legs. Well, one leg, since the other was a peg leg made of wood. He was holding your necklace.

"Alright, I'm going to head back to the ship. You, on the other hand, are gonna find us something else to take before you return."

"W-why m-me?"

"Because Nadakhan said so."

And with that, the cowboy-pirate walked off and left snakey-poo to find something else to steal.

You silently crept up behind the snake, and without warning at all, pinned him to the ground.

"G-g-gah!"

"Give it back and I'll let you go."

"W-w-what? Is th-this yours?"

"Yes. Hand it over," you demanded.

The Veno-Condrai handed back your necklace with no hesitation. You clipped it on securely.

"Y-you l-look really pretty with that on," the serpentine said.

"Yeah right. Now talk, why did you steal that?!"

"C-c-captain's orders! I didn't have m-much of a choice!"

"Who's your captain?"

"N-Nadakhan!"

"Who was that other guy?"

"Who...?"

"The one with the mustache."

"F-F-Flintlocke."

"Anyone else I should know about?"

"M-my name's C-Clancee."

"Well then, you seem like a nice enough guy compared to the Cowboy-Pirate back there. The name's Y/N."

"N-nice to m-meet you, Y/N."

You got up and let Clancee up as well.

"As s-soon as I s-s-saw th-that necklace, I regretted having to steal it because it's s-so p-pretty."

"Why do you do that?"

"D-do w-what?"

"Stutter like that."

"I-I've always s-sorta had th-this weird stutter."

"You know, you seem like a nice guy. The house you stole this from was mine, feel free to visit any time."

"Th-thanks. I-I have to g-g-get back to the sh-ship now."

"Kay," you said before lightly pecking his scaly cheek and heading back to your place.

Clancee stood there, flustered. For a fleeting moment he forgot all about Misfortune's Keep, and thought only of you.
