You breathed softly and calmly as Morro lightly caressed your face with one hand as his other was wrapped around your waist. You pulled your head into the crook of his neck. You ran a finger through his messy, however very clean, black hair. You lightly pressed your lips to his, and that's when you heard it (and/or felt it).
You were told that ghosts had inhuman capabilities such as growling, hissing, they all had fangs and forked tongues, et cetera. But you never thought you'd hear it.
Morro was purring.
It sounded feline-like to say the least. It was soft, and barely audible, but it was there. You looked up and realized Morro had his eyes closed. He was smiling softly as you continued to stroke his hair. The purr got a bit louder, and then it suddenly stopped. Morro had opened his eyes, and he was now looking at you, blushing.
"I-I, uhh..."
"You were purring," you said softly. "It was cute, why did you stop?" Morro blushed even harder. "Don't be embarrassed," you murmured calmly.
You then continued to stroke his hair, and Morro continued to purr softly. You finally rested your head on his shoulder and slowly drifted off to sleep to the slowly fading sound of Morro's purr.
