(Your P.O.V.)
Great, today was the day that I had to stay after school for a detention. I was really regretting back talking the teacher now. No, I had to keep my mouth running and now I was paying the price by staying at this school for longer than I wanted to. I waved goodbye to my friends before walking towards the detention room with my homework and detention pass.
Mr. Sony, the Drama teacher, was screwing around with the projector but failing miserably. He looked up after noticing me and motioned towards the clipboard, "Be sure to sign in. Leave your pass on the desk."
I walked towards the desk, signed my name, put the pass down, and scanned the available seats. I could sit by the kid that is coughing, sneezing, and constantly sniffling. Or I could sit by the two kids in the back that look like they could easily kill me with their bare hands. I think I'll take the empty seat in the middle.
I made my way towards the seat, setting my books down on the table and sliding in to sit down. I got right to work so I didn't have to bring anything with me on the walk home. The door had opened and in walked in a tall guy with curly brown hair. Does he go to this school?
Duh, dumbass. Why else would he be here in detention? I thought to myself. He was signing the clipboard and made eye contact with the room. Probably figuring out where to sit like I did earlier. I pretended I was working when really I was stealing glances at the attractive boy in the front of the classroom.
Should I speak up?
No, definitely not.
But I want to talk to him.
So I did just that. "This seat isn't taken," I spoke up and pointed at the seat next to me. The guy smiled and made his way next to me. After sitting down, I saw him look at me through my peripheral vision. I couldn't help but blush while finishing a problem on my worksheet. I looked up and turned my head towards him, "Is there a problem?"
He smiled even wider and straightened up his posture, "Yeah, actually. I don't know your name."
Is that his pick-up line? No, he seems like he's just trying to be friendly. Come on, you're the one who wanted to talk to him.
"I'm Y/N." I extended my hand towards him and his met mine, shaking it gently, "Ashton."
I squinted my eyes at him, "I've never seen you around. Are you new or do we just not have any classes together?"
The school was pretty big. Everyday I see people that I've never seen before.
"I've been here for about two years. I don't believe we have any classes together."
I decided to just put my homework away and talk with Ashton.
"So, you seem like a really nice guy. Why are you in here?" I was curious. What would a guy like Ashton be in detention? Surely he's not the bad boy type.
"The teacher wouldn't let me go to the bathroom so I flipped some desks in the classroom and pissed all over them," his smile faded into a serious look.
What the fuck?
Looks can for sure be deceiving. I kept staring at him in complete shock, "Are you serious?"
He began laughing. My eyes pulled together in a confused gaze. Why was he laughing?
Mr. Sony looked up at us and said, "Okay guys, this projector isn't wanting to work. I'm going across the hall to use theirs. Please, remain quiet. I don't want Mr. Adams on my case." He made his way towards the door and once the door shut behind him, Ashton and I went back to talking with each other.
"No. I called Mrs. Reed a Nazi. She got all mad and wrote me up."
He called one of our history teachers a Nazi? Of all people? I giggled. It seemed ironic to me.
