You couldn't believe what you had just seen right before your very own eyes. The absolute horror on the expressions they wore was enough to tell you what they had been doing.

You had heard them scrambling around, trying to put their clothes back on, the closer you got to the bedroom door.

"How long has this been going on?"

"Huh?

"Cut the shit, Ashton. You have already been caught. I'm not stupid."

"She's just a friend, baby."

You chuckled, "Well your 'friend' is naked with your bed sheets wrapped around her and she's standing in your bedroom. Is that just a random coincidence?"

Ashton was rubbing the back of his neck nervously, "Um, yeah?"

You rolled your eyes, "you're pathetic," and you turned to walk out of the bedroom. You had grabbed your car keys off the dining room table before you felt a hand grab your arm and jerk you around.

"Baby, listen to me."

You yanked your arm out of his grip and fixed your jacket. Ignoring his pleas, you continued towards the front door of his apartment. He jumped in your way, blocking your exit. "Y/N, I can explain."

Now you were angry.

"Move."

"No."

You sighed and ran your hands over your face trying to keep your composure.

Don't cry, you told yourself over and over again. The longer you were here, the harder it was to not cry. You blinked a few times before making eye contact with Ashton.

"You can't walk away from me. You can't throw our relationship away from a mistake."

"Ashton, I'm not throwing our relationship away."

A small, hopeful smile swept across his face but quickly disappeared.

"You already did," you spat.

You went to leave again but he stood his ground with you. "Please. I am begging you to let me explain."

Tears started to brim in your eyes and you tried desperately to hold them in. You hated crying in front of people. You always had to be the strong one for everybody.

"What is there to explain, Ashton? You cheated on me. That's not even the sad part. The sad part is, is that I saw all the warning signs happening right in front of me."

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"The late responses, your phone calls became less frequent. You were on your phone more than you were paying attention to me and when you did pay what little attention you did to me, your phone was always facing down. There was a shirt in your car that wasn't mine. The sad part was, was that I ignored it because I thought you loved me. I tried to convince myself that it was my shirt, even though I never wear anything pink."

You had tears running down your cheeks and the only sound in the room were your sniffles. You hated yourself. You hated the idea of crying in front of Ashton after he hurt you like this.
