I woke up feeling like I've been ran over by a garbage truck. I was currently in the bathroom throwing up and crying from abdominal pain. I have no idea what was wrong with me. I was fine last night. I put the back of my hand on my forehead and sure enough I was burning up.

I got up off the bathroom floor and made my way downstairs to eat breakfast with my older brother, Michael. He would begin to suspect something is wrong with me and freak out. I'm not going to his clinic to get shots.

"Hey, I made your favorite. Chocolate chip pancakes. The boys are coming over later to hang out a-" Michael looked at me and raised an eyebrow, "Are you ok?" I gathered all the strength I had in my body to convince my brother that I was fine. "Couldn't be better," I smiled.

I knew he didn't believe me but he didn't push me any further. Thank you, big brother. He continued what he was saying earlier, "The boys are coming over later to hang out. I'm going to the store for snacks. Want anything?"

To feel better, I thought to myself. "No thank you. Be careful." I took a drink of water before going back upstairs hoping he didn't realize I didn't eat any of the pancakes he made for me. I heard the front door open and close and I sighed in relief. I went and laid back down in my bed and tried to fight the nauseating feeling before falling asleep.

What felt like only five minutes later, I heard a soft knock at my bedroom door. Michael came in soon after, "The guys are here. They want you to come down and watch a movie."

I got up even though I still felt like trash and ignoring it so Michael and his friends don't suspect anything. I followed Michael downstairs and was immediately greeted by Ashton, Luke, and Calum.

We all agreed to watch Blockers and I sat between Michael and Calum. I was fighting myself to stay awake but lost the battle and fell asleep. Not a deep sleep though, I could still hear what was going on. I felt Calum's hand brush against my arm and a gasp that followed afterwards, "Michael, she's burning up."

A few hours later

I woke up on one of those examination table beds that they have in doctors offices. I automatically knew that I was in my brothers clinic that he shares with his friends, who all happen to be doctors. This is the exact place that I didn't want to be. I hear commotion going on outside of the room that I was in. The curiosity got the best of me and I opened the door only to have someone run into the open door.

"Ow," I heard Luke say. I looked at him, "Didn't they ever teach you not to run in the hallway, dummy?" Luke glared at me as I helped him up. Michael ran up to me and asked, "Why are you not in your room?"

"Why am I here?" I ignored his question. He looked at me and put his arm around me and we went back into the room. Ashton lifted me back on the examination table and they all gathered around me. I started panicking, "I'm dying, aren't I?"

"No. Why didn't you tell me that you were sick?" Michael looked at me with sad eyes. I sighed, looking at the floor, "I was scared to come here. I hate doctors offices. I hate the smell and I hate needles."

Michael stared at me and then gave me a hug, which caught me by surprise. When he first became a doctor, he would always chase me with a syringe and tell me that he was going to give me a shot. Sibling love. "You're not going to need a shot, baby sister. You have appendicitis. We actually caught it in time. If we didn't discover you being sick, your appendix could have ruptured. That's why you always go to the doctors when you're sick. It's a good thing you're awesome big brother is a doctor. Also known as your hero," I rolled my eyes but allowed him to continue, "Anyways, so basically your flu caused your appendix to swell. I'm gonna prescribe you some penicillin and it should do the trick."

I looked at Michael, "Thank you. I'll try to communicate my every sickness. Including my period sickness." I smiled at Michael's reaction and got up to leave.
