In the mist of the battle Lauren saw Max go down. He was caught in the head by one of the vampires. She ran towards him, Izzy following her, she looked at him. He was unconscious, she checked his head-there was no blood. "We have to take him to the institute" Izzy said "You can go with him, I'll get Jace to send Abi and your brother" she added "Go Lauren!" Lauren pulled Max's arm over her shoulder, pulling him away from the battle as fast as she could. Heading towards the institute.

Meanwhile, Abi wasn't doing so well. The cut on her arm burned and she couldn't see anyone she knew. Something tapped her shoulder and she turned round, it was Jonathan, she hugged him tight. "Izzy said we need to go to the institute to keep you safe" he said. Abi nodded and let him carry her. When Abi and Jonathan reached the institute Magnus was outside, "Get inside now! I'm putting a protection spell on the place so stay inside no matter what okay?" They both nodded and walked in. Magnus completing the spell.
