Running Into Hamilton

Ham4ham - part 7

"Maddie is amazing. Don't you think she should do a ham4ham?" I asked. "Of course. That girl is like a tiny pip." He said, and i laughed. I know she can do this.

*Maddie pov*

After listening to the show again from my room, I ran down the steps when I knew the show was over. After everyone was changed into normal clothes, I sat in Lin and Groffs dressing room until the ham4ham. Lin motioned me out and I looked to the stage. I saw so many people I knew from shows. Kristen Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Joshua Colley. Oh my goodness, Joshua Colley is standing like, ten feet away from me.

Well, obviously I looked awestruck, cause Lin put a hand on my shoulder and led me onstage. "Go talk, Maddie. Meet them." He whispered, then pushed me toward Kristen and Idina. "Umm... hi! I'm Maddie, aka little Hamilton." I said in a shaky, nervous voice. "Hi Maddie! I think you know this, but I'm Kristen Chenoweth. It's really cool to meet you, Lin told me about you!" She said, smiling at me. "Ya! Idina Menzel. Lin told me too. I heard you were singing today? You'll do great hun." Idina said, her and Kristen smiling larger than I thought was possible.

As they walked away, they showed someone behind them i didn't think I would ever meet. I had a huge crush on him. Maddie what are you thinking, he's a Broadway actor, he doesn't like you. "Hey... Im Joshua, but.. um you can call me Josh. What's your name?" He says, surprising me. "Oh, I'm Maddie. By the way I loved you in Schuyler sisters get miscast." I blurt, not knowing what to say.

He blushed immediately. "Oh, thanks. Are you the Maddie that's singing today?" He says, putting a hand on his neck. "Ya. Speaking of, I should probably go..." I say, pointing to the cast, staring at me and trying to get me over to them. "Bye Maddie, talk to you after?" He asked shyly. "Of course, see you then." I respond and walk away.

*Joshuas pov*

I saw the two women leaving, and a girl was standing in front of them. Woah. She is cute. Before I realize what im doing, I'm walking to her. "Hey... Im Joshua, but.. um you can call me Josh. What's your name?" I stutter out. How come you can perform on Broadway, yet you can barely talk to a girl. Ugh. I'm wiped out of my trance by her speaking. "Oh, I'm Maddie. By the way I loved you in Schuyler sisters get miscast."

Goodness her voice is pretty. We keep talking, but I can barely pay attention. I can't wait to hear her sing later. I know I just met her, but i think i love her. Uhh Josh she probably has a boyfriend.

*Maddie pov*

"Hello hello hello! Welcome to today's ham4ham. Today we introduce a special guest. Maddie Ramos/ little Hamilton! She's going to sing for us today." He said into the mic. I've never heard anyone refer to me as Maddie Ramos. I slowly stepped up a bit and smiled, waving to the crowd.

I heard the music to thinking out loud by ed sheeran come on and start singing. I just let it flow through me and when im done I look back at the cast and guests. Some are in awe, some nearly in tears.

*Josh pov*

We were rushed into a line in the middle of the stage before Lin speaks. He introduces Maddie and she shyly steps up and waves. God, she's adorable. But once she sang, I didn't even know what to say. She sounded amazing. I didn't even pay attention to the rest of the ham4ham.

At the end i find her immediately. She's wrapped in a hug with a bunch of guys from the cast. I linger a few feet away from them until they break up. Then I run up to her and hug her. "Oh my gosh you were amazing. Seriously that was so good!" I said after letting go of her. "Thanks Josh, you're really nice."

After she says this, I feel all of the guys in the cast staring me down. "Do you have a phone, I can, umm... follow you on Instagram or something..." I stumble over my words. I don't want this to be the only time we talk. I really like her. "Ya, it's one.musical.maddie on Instagram." I quickly put it in my phone. "Cool, see you." I said, still stuck in my own head.

I'm pulled out of my daze by three guys standing behind me. "You better not hurt her." I hear Anthony say. "Yeah." I turn around and see daveed and oak. "I won't, I swear. She's just... so.. perfect. I'm sorry, uh... sirs." I say, put my head down and walk away. She's so fragile, and adorable.
