I flip through the channels and turn on full house. We watch for an hour, then Maddie goes off to change. I kiss my fiancee. My family is amazing.

We have a rehearsal tonight for Hamilton understudues who haven't been on in a while. Anthony and Jazz stay at tge theater, in the front row, while we rehearse. As we get to guns and ships, I'm ready. As I'm jumping off the table I realize something. That is a piece of a costume. I land right on it and it makes me slide, twisting my ankle and landing on my other ankle weirdly.
I look up and see my parents running to me. After i slipped, i landed flat on my back and it really hurt. One thing I had yet to mention to my parents, or anyone, really, was that i had back surgery a year ago. I have 2 titanium rods screwed into my spine because it used to curve in three places. Im beginning to think this may be a problem. Lin and Anthony have me wrap my arms around their shoulders, but Anthony switches and Jazz takes his place, because he is too tall. The help me hobble out to the car and we drive to urgent care.
After we check in and we go through the typical "have you ...." forms, we get called back. A nurse leads us to a room and is immediately awestruck when she looks up. "Ok, so, Maddie Ram- oh! You're Anthony and Jasmine and Maddie Ramos and Jones! It's so amazing to meet you! I love Hamilton. Now, let's get down to business. Id love to talk to you guys but i do have a job!" She says, looking over her papers.
"So, what did we do to that ankle?" She asks, slightly lifting it. I grimace and she puts it down. "I was rehearsing, and- I don't feel well, i- I think I'm gonna pass out." I say, knowing that i should say something. Then darkness. The next thing I remember is being carried.

Maddie had an understudy rehearsal, so we decided to stay and watch. She was doing guns and ships and I was really excited for her, until something caught my eye. One of the performers costumes fell off and there was a ruffled, white piece of fabric on stage. I tried to warn her, but she was already jumping off the table. She lands right on it and fall, obviously injuring her ankle. I run ahead of jazz and carry Maddie of the stage, then stand her up. Me and lin try to be crutches, but she's too short, so Jazz takes my place. I drive to urgent care and we get through the mounds of paperwork.
After we're called back, the nurse recognizes us. Not uncommon. She asks Maddie what she did, and she responds. "I was rehearsing, and- I don't feel well, i- I think I'm gonna pass out." She squeaks out, then falls on the bed. I run to her, across the little room, and panic. "What do we do? Should I take her to the hospital? Should she stay here?" I begin to babble, picking her up. "We can get an ambulance here, or we can call the hospital abd tell them youre coming, like a call ahead service type situation. The when you get there, she can be treated right away." The nurses says calmly. "Ok, well drive her over, thank you!" I say, carrying my daughter to our car. Shes breathing, which is always good, and we arrive quickly.
"Madeline Ramos? She passed out at the urgent care up the street and they called you." I say as i run in, Jazz parking the car. "Ok, shell be over there in room 12, a doctor should already be in there." I make a dash for room 12, jazzy on my heels after she entered. I set Maddie on the little cot and the doctor looks her over. "So, she had just had an injury, correct? That's why she was at the urgent care?" The doctor asks, checking her clipboard. "Yes, she was explaining what had happened, and then she said she wad gonna pass out, and she did just that."
The doctor looks at her again and replies. "She passed out from shock, both of the injury, and the hustle to get her to a doctor, but i believe she may be slightly dehydrated. So, what happened?" She explains. "She was rehearsing, and jumped onto the floor. She slipped on a stray costume piece and twisted her ankle, then fell flat on her back." I explained, my knee bouncing uncontrollably. "Ok, so I'm going to wait for her to wake up, then we'll take her for ankle and back x-rays." She said. She gathered her papers and began to leave.
"Wha- where am I? What? Ow!" Maddie groggily tries to sit up. "Oh! Perfect timing, and to answer your question, you're in the hospital. I'll help you to the x-ray lab and we're going to look at your ankle and your back. Let's go." The doctor says and brings her out of the room.
"I'm just happy she's up. She'll be ok, right?" I ask my fiancee, who's head is leaning on my shoulder. "Shell be ok, ant. It's ok." She comforts me. Maddie comes back a few minutes later. "Let's take a look." The doctor says. She pulls up an x-ray of Maddies foot. "Looks like you fractured your ankle, right there." She says, pointing it out. "And, as for your back, let's see." She pulled up and x-ray.
"Woah, what the- what is that?" I ask, seeing two white bars with screws sticking out of it. "Did you not know? She had a spinal fusion surgery about a year ago. Her spine had three curves in it." She explains, a concerned look on her face. "No I didn't. Maddie, why didn't you tell us?" I ask, hugging her. "It never really came up. I'm sorry." She says. She is always apologizing. "Dont be soory, it's alright. Is she ok?" I ask the doctor. "Yes, her back is fine. You might be a bit stiff though. I'll get a cast and some crutches, Maddie." She says and walks out to get them.
She returns and puts the cast on Maddie. "This stays on for 5 weeks, stay on the crutches the same time. See you then!" She says, then we leave. I feel so bad, I wish i could do something.
