"Don't tell me to calm down."

I tremble at his stern voice. "Then leave." I say quietly, as he just stares at me. "Leave." I say again, and he huffs, walking out of the apartment. I pull my phone out of my pocket and sit on the couch. I open the messages app and begin to type.

M: Riley and I got in a fight
J: are you ok? Did he break up with you?
M: I don't know, he got really mad and I told him to leave. It was scary
J: I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to help.
M: idk, he freaked out that I went to see you
J: that's ridiculous. Call me if you need.
M: I think I'm okay, thanks though
J: no problem.
M: soz for bugging you
J: don't be. 💛
M: I'm going to the theatre. 💛
J: ok, bye

I grab a jacket and walk down to the theatre, knowing that the show will start in about an hour, meaning it will be crowded. The security guard sees me and helps me in, then I silently go into my room. I curl up on the bed and stay there for ages. My phone lights up and I grab it.

J: look outside your window

I pull open the white curtain and look out the glass, down the old black fire escape. I gasp, seeing Josh climbing the steps. I sit on the windowsill and pull my legs through, then start down the slightly rusty stairs. "Hey." I say, wiping my eyes with my sleeve. "Hey don't cry. Please, it's ok. Do you want to go up to your room?" He asks, hugging me. I nod my head and we go up the fire escape into the room. I knock on the window of the girls dressing room and Carleigh pokes her head out. "Tell everyone I'm here." I say and she retreats back, as I go up to my room.

I quickly jump into the room, Josh struggling in behind me. I pull him in, laughing, and sit on my bed. "Rileys an idiot. If he ever pulls that again, I will not hesitate to like, hurt him. As much as I can, he's a freaking monster." He says, chuckling a little. I laugh, knowing Josh would automatically lose in a fight. "That is if we're still an item." I say. Josh hugs me from the side. "Hey, it's ok. If you aren't, then it wasn't meant to be. It'll be alright." He says, and i lean on him. "Thanks josh." I say quietly as he let's go.

I hop up and grab my ukulele and my guitar, pulling them over to my bed. I unzip and tune my ukulele, while Josh tunes the guitar. I play a few songs, mostly ones that Josh knows and sings along with. We're just fooling around and playing different songs, having tons of fun. We're teaching each other as we go along, and I've finally calmed down.
