I smile afterwards, knowing how amazing this life is, and remembering that my parents are getting married in less than 2 months.

*a few days later*

*maddie pov*

I roll out of bed at 6 am, like normal. I pull on my favorite blue sweatshirt, which is huge and feels like a blanket. I pack up my bag, with all of the work that I did over break. After that, I somehow manage to wake Anthony up before 6:50, since he only needs time to drink some coffee and sometimes change. I had him a travel mug if coffee while he's still in bed, then let him get ready. He emerges a few moments later, after throwing on a pair of jeans, a Hamilton tshirt and a sweatshirt. We hop in the car and drive off to school, listening to all different soundtracks on the way.

"No, we aren't talking about Hamilton ships today, I've had enough with your Lafayette and Washington stuff." I say, sitting down. Everyone laughs for a while, laughing because it's true. "What about-" Cara begins to say before I cut her off. "No. No, I want a weird-hamilton-ship free day back, this is hard enough." I say, gaining another laugh. "It's not even Hamilton though!" Cara retorts, nearly sounding like a toddler. "Fine, go ahead." I say, then she snickers. "What about Benny and Usnavi?" She asks quickly and I stand up. "Nope. Nope! I'm done, goodbye!" I say, pretending to walk away. Cara laughs, then comes over and pulls me back to the place the rest of us are standing.

I go through the rest of the day, only reviewing material that most kids started to forget over break. The day is boring, but I finally get to rehearsal. After we all drop our bags, put on our shoes, and eat our snacks, our director starts the rehearsal. "Ok guys, we're just gonna start from the top and go through the whole thing. I expect that some of your u will do it perfectly, and some will majorly fail, but we just had a break so it's ok." She says smiling. Everyone crowds into the wings, talking loudly. I peek my head through the curtain and look to my director for approval. She nods her head.

I walk to the apron of the stage, dead center. "Guys, you need to be quiet. If you could be silent during transitions and once you staple onto this stage, we could go so much faster and you would probably get out early. Yet, you keep talking, then complaining when you got out late or didn't finish so another rehearsal was added. Ok? Good." I say, then retreat to the wings, everyone now silent. We go through the entire show, and as our director said, some of us did it flawlessly, and some were so confused they were falling over. The rehearsal ends quite early, so our director gives thorough notes and congratulates us on being quiet. I walk out to Anthony's car and took my mint green bag in the back.

We drive to the theatre, I'm filling in for Pippa today. I found out a while agao, and I've been practicing furiously so I remember it. Lin said the stage kiss is just going to be a hug or a kiss on the cheek, cause that would be weird if it werent. As we pull up to the theatre, I quickly jump out and head inside. I go to Lins dressing room and knock on the door, then walk in. "Hey!" I say, waving at him. "You ready?" He asks, smiling. He looks down and notices crumbs on his grey sweater, brushing them off, then looking back to ne. "Meh, I guess as ready as I'll ever be, I don't think anyone is totally ready to perform as a lead role on Broadway for the first time." I say.

"Hey, not the first. Ok, maybe this is the biggest you've been in, but still not the first." He says and I nod. "I should probably go get ready. You go prepare to be poor, cheat on me and create our country. Odd description, but accurate." I say, then head to the girls dressing room. I grab the pretty, parchment colored dress and put it on, laying out my other blue dresses, then doing my makeup. Once done, I pin my curly hair up into a half up, half down style and hang out with the cast.
