Running Into Hamilton

Kiss-part 88

He puts his arm around me and walks me up to the apartment.

*maddie pov*

I pull open the door and grab Rileys hand, pulling him into the apartment. Jazz and Anthony went out, so we have the apartment alone for a couple of hours. I pull him over to the couch and sit down, grabbing the remote and switching on the tv. I turn on the last five years and Riley sits next to me. I pull my legs onto the couch and lean on him, grabbing a blanket and swooping it over us as the soft piano plays on the tv. I lay on him and we watch the movie, getting snacks throughout.

After nearly 2 hours, the movie ends and I'm still leaning on Riley. He looks down and  grabs my hand, looking into my eyes. "I love you." He says, smiling. Before I get the chance to respond, he places his lips on mine. I smile through it, then kiss him back, as he places his hand behind my neck. After quite some time, he let's go while I keep the same short distance from him. "I love you too." I say, falling over and leaning completely on him. We smile at the same time, as he runs his hand over my hair. I keep laying on his chest as pitch perfect comes on the tv, and we both watch it.

I flip around and lay on my side on the long part of the couch. After a few minutes, Riley scoots over and lays behind me, putting his arms around me. I almost melt into his arms and lay there for a while, as we sing along with the movie. I feel myself begin the drift off, and just before I fall asleep, Riley kisses my head.

*Riley pov*

We were watching pitch perfect when I feel Maddie dozing off in my arms. I gently kiss her head and continue to watch the movie. Soon after, I hear the lock turn and Jasmine and Anthony come in. "Hey guys, we're home!" Anthony says, somewhat quietly. "Hey, Maddie fell asleep." I say, and they walk over. They head to their room and I hear the sound of the tv turning on. I quickly fall asleep, still holding Maddie in my arms.

*maddie pov- next day*

Riley left a while ago, and I was just hanging out. Suddenly, my phone lights up and I pick it up. I get a message from Josh. Hey, could you come down to rays? He says, and i quickly reply an ok. I tell my parents and run down, wondering what's wrong. I'm greeted by his face, tears stained. I run over and hug him, trying to calm him down. "What happened, what's wrong?" I ask, sitting across from him. "J-jenna broke up with me." He said through tears. "Well then she's stupid. It's ok, you'll be alright." I say. "I loved her, and she crushed my heart. She said I wasn't worth her time and she hated me, among so much more." He stutters out, and I give him a shy smile. "Then she doesn't deserve you." I say, and we hang out for a while, since he just doesn't want to be alone.

After a few hours, I head back to the apartment. I get a call from Riley, and pick it up. "Where are you??" He asks, and I reply. "On my way back from rays. Why?" I respond, and wait for his reply. "I'm at the apartment, and no one's here. A&j went to the show." He says, rushed. "I'll be there in like, 2 minutes." I say, then hang up and run home. I open the door and see him sitting in the kitchen. "Why were you at rays?" He asks, getting up from the breakfast bar. "I was hanging out with josh." I say quietly, Rileys angry voice scaring me.

"Why were you with him?" He asks, stepping closer to me. I quickly jump back, tripping and I end up falling to the ground. I quickly scramble up. "Jenna broke up with him, he needed a friend, and I'm his friend. Riley, you need-" I say before he cuts me off. "Don't tell me to calm down."
