Running Into Hamilton

Report- part 18

"Mom, dad?" She asked, taking us by surprise. Jazz looks at me and mouths "she called me mom", wide eyed and excited. We both respond and she speaks again. "I love you." She said, which we returned. She was adorable, I'm so glad that this is my family.

*Anthony pov*

Maddie woke up way before us, and me and Jazz were barely up in time to take her to school. She handed the both of us coffee, and put her empty tea mug away in the sink. It was a quiet morning, but Maddie piped up in the car. "Uh... I think in reporting that, thing... from friday." She said. Jazz was driving, so I looked back and grabbed her hand.

"Good honey. He's an idiot, and if i fand him he will be very, very sorry. I love you." I said, trying to kinda console her. "Ok dad. I'll see you guys after school. No rehearsal. Love you!" She said standing up from the car. Jazzy said love you and pulled away. "We should do something with her tonight, like... go to a movie or go out for dinner." Jazz said after we drove for a while. "We could go out to the Italian place she hasn't been to yet. Angelos?" I suggest, and Jazz agrees. We hang out at home while Maddie goes to school. Jazz goes to target for a while, but most of the time is spent at home.

*Maddie pov*

I get out of jazzys car and walk inside. I'm a little early, but I'm immediately greeted my Riley, Cara and Julia at the front door. Their bags are all away already, and we walk together to mine. After my bag is away, they give me a small pep talk as we walk to the office. "What he did was crazy wrong, and nobody deserved that, especially not you. You have a witness, plus a security camera on your side." Cara says, before getting cut off by Julia. "Plus, the principal is kind, so don't be nervous. If you weren't going to say anything, he could do this to other people." And Riley nods in agreement and gives me a little side hug.

We approach the office and the four of us go to the principal. I explain what happened, shaking and nearly in tears, receiving hugs from my friends. "Did any of you see what happened?" The principal asks my friends. Riley slightly raises his hand and speaks. "I saw most of it. I was looking for her, cause she always goes to homeroom early, so i went to see where she was. I called her name, but then i saw him pull his knee from her stomach, and her doubled over in front of him. I ran to her, but he slapped her. I told him to stop and brought her to the nurse." He explains. "Oh, and there was a security camera, right on it." He adds and the principal smiles.

"Well we can look at the footage and find out who did it. We'll talk to you when we do, so you guys can go to homeroom now. Have a good day!" She says, and we all return it. Riley stays with me as much of the day as possible, and when he isnt with me, Julia and Cara are. The day is short and before I know it, I'm back in Jazzs car, driving to their apartment. "Maddie, we're gonna go out to dinner tonight, like 30 minutes." Anthony shouts to me at about 6. I pull on a really simple swing dress and a flannel. At 6:30 we leave and arrive at an Italian restaurant.

The food was incredible, and I was stuffed by the time we left. I went back to Anthony and Jazzys apartment and pulled on some pjs. I finished up last pieces of homework and fell asleep to my Broadway playlist. This was my life now, and i couldn't want anything else.
