I think I like josh.
_______________
(An just remember that Josh and maddie and their friends are 16 and 17, not 14 like the real people are now and yes, everyone I'd based off of real people)
*maddie pov*I wake up, stretching, and jump out of bed. I pull on leggings and a tanktop, putting a grey swetshirt over it. I hang out in my room, watching youtube videos, as a text pops up in my screen.
Josh: how're you doing
Maddie: wonderful😆
Josh: 🙁 aww I'm sorry lynnie
Maddie: it's ok, wanna come over?
Josh: if your parents won't actually kill me.
Maddie: they wont, trust me.
Josh: k, I've got a show in 30, so I'll see you at 3?
Maddie: cool.I go tell my parents, then hang out in my room for a while. I grab my speaker and hook my phone up to it. I scroll through my music until i find the last 5 years soundtrack. I listen to Still Hurting, the lyrics panging through me with a slight sense of reality. Once the last notes play out, I turn off the speaker and I watch tv and youtube until my phone lights up again. Josh says he's on his way, and I smile. I hear his car pull up outside, and I hop up and sit on the couch. He knocks on the door and I open it. "Hey" I say softly, hugging him. "Hey lynnie" He says, smiling. He's wearing grey joggers and a light blue tee shirt, a black coat over it. His hair is sort of messy, but it doesn't bother me. We watch tv for a while, his arm over my shoulders. He looks down at me slightly, smiling.
He pulls his free arm up and rubs the back of his neck, looking away. I cock my head slightly, confused at why he seems this shy. "Umm, Maddie, i- I like you." He says quietly, and I look up at him. "I like you too." I say genuinely, smiling. He gives me a goofy grin and hugs me tighter. "I really like you, I love you." I hear Josh from slightly above my head. A bigger smile is pasted onto my face, and I agree. I turn on glee, which opens to an episode I was watching earlier. I restarted the series, so it was pretty early. Jessy comes up on the screen, and I pop up.
"Hey, look! That's my uncle! Go groff!" I say excitedly. Josh starts laughing, and I join him. I never felt this relaxed with Riley. I always wore makeup and nice clothes and was self conscious and now, I'm just here. I'm in an old sweatshirt and leggings, no makeup and my hair messy and undone. "You go to jefferson, right?" He asks, a small smirk on his face. "Yea, why?" I say, confused and excited about what he has to say. "Well, the performance arts school I go to is joining up with you guys and they're doing partial-school scholarships." He says, smiling.
"English, please?" I say giggling. "You would go to Jefferson for normal school, then leave partway through the day to do performance arts school." He says. "Oh, that's so cool, I probably wouldn't get in, but that's really cool." I say, Josh quickly trying to cut me off. "Hey, you'll totally make it in." He says, looking me in the eyes. I smile shyly and he leans into me.
