Running Into Hamilton

Who It Was- part 19

The food was incredible, and I was stuffed by the time we left. I went back to Anthony and Jazzys apartment and pulled on some pjs. I finished up last pieces of homework and fell asleep to my Broadway playlist. This was my life now, and i couldn't want anything else.

*Maddie pov*

I woke up and put on navy blue capris and a cute sweater, rolling up the sleeves. I swing my bag over my shoulders and hop into Anthony's car. "You reported the son o-... that idiot, right?" He asks me, glancing away from the road for just a second. "Ya, Julia and Riley and Cara helped me. The principal said she's talk to us when they find out who did it." I say, shrinking up at the thought of what happened.

I hop out of the car after saying goodbye to Anthony. I walk in and find my friends while putting my books away. We stay at my locker and talk for a while. Riley and i walk off to our homeroom, while Julia and cara walk off to theirs.

"Hey, are you alright? You look like something's wrong. Please tell me." Riley whispers to me, putting a hand on my knee. I look down, nearly hiding from him. "I'm just... scared. Scared that we won't find the guy, scared nothing will happen to him, scared he'll do it again. Hell, scared we'll break up, scared the entire world will shatter and fall like some feeble, gentle animal or something." I say, pushing myself into the wall.

"Ok first, Jesus. Maddie that was really poetic. Second of all, everything will be fine." He says, consoling me. "Ok, I'm alright." I breathe out as the bell rings for first period. We walk to the chorus room, meeting up with Julia and cara on the way, until something both takes my breath away and makes me shake uncontrollably. "Can Maddie petter, Riley Akers, Cara Smith (an Cara idk your last name, it's Smith now) and Julia Taylor (an Julia I just hid your ln) please come to the office." Came over the intercom, and we all quickly walk to the office.

"We figured out who it was, He s a ninth grader named Jake Wolfe. We dont know why he did it, but we're calling him in in a minute. We intend on suspending him, but we have to talk to him to figure out how long. Also, he'll be on classroom suspension, so he has to be escorted by a staff member if he wants to go anywhere." Our principal explains, then tells us we can go back to class. We all group hug outside, then rush to chorus.

The day is slow, but after it we have rehearsal. The four of us warm up and stretch before we start, whilst snacking on the protein bars and popcorn that we always have. We get started, and have I mentioned, I either love or hate everyone in my cast. Everyone is either really nice, knows stage ettiquite and all that, or they yell in the wings and are enemies with everyone.

It was louder in the wings than on stage. The leads have to nearly yell on stage. That works great for cara since she's maleficent, so it isn't very out of the ordinary. For Julia, sara, Riley and I, not so much. We all have very soft-spoken characters, so yelling is weird. Eventually the cast gets yelled at enough to whisper, so we can comfortably say our lines. We finish up and Riley checks his phone and smiles. I ask him what happens he just says "nothing" so i shrug it off. As we walk out, he kisses me on the forehead. I walk to Anthony's car and we drive to the theater.

*Riley pov*

I texted Mr. Ramos after school, before rehearsal started. I told him what happened and he reluctantly told me I could give her a kiss. I was ecstatic when i saw that on my phone, and I took the opportunity. She looked happy. That's all I want.
