Running Into Hamilton

Peggy -part 69

I switch on the tv and we watch whatever is on the screen until jazz and Anthony are ready to leave.

Riley and I grab our bags and walk out to the car, arms around each other. It's freezing outside, so we run to the car. We turn the heat all the way up, then drive off to school. We pull up to the curb of the school, and Riley and I hop out. He brushes his dark blonde hair out of his eyes, then we run into school. We hang out with our friends for a while, then head to our homerooms. I'm excited to get through the day, because I'm going to the theatre tonight. I go through all of my classes, happy that I had chorus today.

I go to a short musical practice, we were just running a few songs to make sure we had them down. I throw my jazz shoes in my bag and I say goodbye to my friends. I run out of the bright auditorium, out into the cold. I hop into the car, then look through the gap between the seats, smiling at my parents. "To the theatre!" I say, pointing to the windshield and getting a laugh from both of them. Anthony pulls away from the curb, and we head to the theatre. We all hop out, and I grab my bag.

I run inside, hopping the baracade like Anthony rather than going through the gate like jazz. I punch in the door code and go inside, immediately making my way to the girls dressing room. I hang out with my second family for a while, getting help on my math homework from Renee and pip does my makeup a little. Jazz comes in, smiling like crazy. "Mad, you got fitted for Peggy, right?" She asks giddily. "Yea, why?" I aks, dragging out the word. "You're gonna be Peggy tonight." She says, smiling. "Oh, cool!" I say and jump up to jasmines makeup counter. I grab the bag of makeup that I had left here. I put in foundation and concealer to cover the redness and acne on my face, then put on blush to look like a child.

I wait in the wings with Pippa and Renee until they have to go on for Alexander Hamilton. We wait until our cue, then have fun, acting on stage. After the scenes I'm in, I head backstage and hang with Jazz. "Just, don't miss bows. Don't get carried away hanging out with ant after he dies... again." I laugh at her laurens/ Phillip reference, then think. "Wait, I'm in bows? I'm not in the cast." I say. "Yes you are, you've played Jefferson and Laf like, 5 times. Plus you just played Peggy of course you're going for bows." She says, then has to get ready. I hang out in the wings or the kitchen during second act until Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story, then I get ready to go on.

I giddily jump in line, then they announce everyone. They approach me name, and I'm already smiling. "Playing Peggy Schuyler, Maddie Pendleton!" They say, and I bow. We exit the stage and I run to Anthony's room. I knock on the door and he responds. "Come on in!" He yells, and I open the door. "You did so well, mad! Good job!" He says, flinging his arm around me. I smile and head off to the girls dressing room to change out of my costume. I find jazz and Anthony and we head home. I drop my bag and watch tv with my family for a while, just chill ik ng from the night.
