We're teaching each other as we go along, and I've finally calmed down.

*maddie pov*
Josh is sitting across from me, strumming the ukulele. My mind is wandering, and apparently, so are my eyes, cause he picks his hands off of the small wooden instrument. "Hey, are you okay?" He says, looking at me. I snap my face back to him, his words making me focus. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine." I say, looking to my guitar and trying to find chords. "If your still worried about Riley, call him, or text him. Just talk to him and ask him what's up." He says, and i nod. I hear the doors opening downstairs, signifying I have a short amount of time to talk. I whip out my phone and click on Rileys contact.
"What do you want." He says sharply, scaring me. "Why are you so mad? I was there for my friend when he needed me. Is something going on in your life that I should know about?" I ask softly, wanting to know why he's so aggrivated. "No, I just, I need to- I'm so sorry Maddie, I need to break up with you." He says, still a harsh edge to his voice, but it's masked by something else. Pain maybe? Or remorse. "Oh, it's okay. See you around school." I say, a small tear slipping from my eye. Josh leans over and hugs me, wiping the tear from my face. I smile shyly at him, Riley saying goodbye.
I toss my phone across the room, then pull the sleeves of my sweatshirt down over my hands. I lean into Josh, and use my sleeve to blot another tear off of my face. Josh gently brushes his finger lightly across my face, which was warm from my crying. He pushes a stray piece of my bangs out of my face, my vision of him now clearer. He gives me a small smile. "I'm sorry, lynnie, it's okay. You'll eventually get over it, find a better guy, it'll be okay." He says softly, making me giggle a little. He's the only one who calls me Lynn and lynnie, since my name ends in that sound. I like it, the short, cute name. I smile up at him, then sit up.
We both use our phones since we can't talk anymore, texting each other every once and a while. It mostly goes like this:
Lynnie: picture attachment hahahahahah
Josh: Kermit memes are 👌
Lynnie: they really are
This continues for the rest of the night. After a while, ant comes upstairs with Jazz, pushing the door open wider than before. "Hey, you ready? Oh, hey Josh, do you need a ride home?" Ant says, nodding his head to Josh, making his curly hair shake. Josh nods and we all set put to the car. We drop Josh off, then pull into the lot of our own building. We walk up and hang out on the couch. My mind wanders again, and Anthony pushes my shoulder slightly. "Sup' Lil laf?" He asks, and I look down. "Riley broke up with me." I say quietly. "That son of a bitch." Anthony whispers under his breath, then hugs me.
"It's ok, I'm not mad or surprised, he's been kind of uneasy lately." I say, and he nods. We sit like this for a while, until it's late. I yawn, then get up and walk into my room. I lay on the bed, and just before my eyes shut, I think. I think I like josh.
