We talk about our favorite songs for a while, enjoying each others company.

I grab my grey and black flannel and pull it over my tanktop, since it's still way too cold in new York to wear a tanktop. Josh grabs his coat and we walk out of the apartment. He said he had a little surprise, so I followed along with him. He opened the passenger door of his blue Honda Civic and motions for me to sit. He shuts the door and walks around to his side, getting in. "Do you have a car yet?" He asks me while putting the key in the ignition. "I'm saving up, I'm paying half. I want to get some type of truck, Chevy or an older toyota." I say, and he looks somewhat confused.
"What? The older Toyotas have better bodies, so what they have some mileage on them. Keep up with it and those cars can run on 2 or 3 hundred." I say, leaving him even more dumbfounded. "How do you know so much about cars?" He says, wide eyed. "My dad was a truck guy, and my brother was a mechanic." I say quietly, not wanting to bring up my family. Josh presses the pedal and we slowly head off to where he wants to take me. I grab the Aux cord and plug it into my phone, scrolling through my playlists and putting on some twenty one pilots.
Josh pulls into a parking lot in front of another set of houses, and looks over to me. "This isn't where we're going, we're walking. I was just leaving my car at my house. Let's go!" He says and I hop out. We walk down the side walk of the ever-so- familliar theatre district. He pulls me to the back of a line that is wrapped over the edge of a building. I see a smiling woman walking past the line, asking how many people are in each party. I look up and see the colorful overhang, decorated in large, bubbly letters. "Really!? You brought me to the Stardust Diner? This is so cool!" I say, looking around. "Yea, I assume you haven't been? This is a staple for anybody around here!" He says and I laugh. "Anthony and Jazz have wanted to take me here for a while, they've been pretty busy with wedding stuff and the show, they haven't gotten to." I say and he leans against the wall. "Call them! Invite them to come eat with us!" He says, as I whip out my phone and push the name.
"They're on their way! Nice thinking J." I say, leaning against the wall next to him and gently kicking his leg. The lady approaches us and Josh tells her that we have two people coming. She keeps down the rest of the line and I pull the sleeves of my flannel down to battle the biting cold on my forearms. I cross your arms slightly over my chest and Josh looks over to me. "You cold?" He asks and I tighten my arms across my chest defensively. "No, I'm fine. I'm like, the only person who gets hot in the theatre, when none of the stage lights are on. I was born during a freaking blizzard, I do not get cold." I say and he laughs. "Alright! Just wanted to make sure. That's cool though, I love winter, but I think you top me there." He says through his chuckles. We continue to talk for a few more minutes until Jasmine and Anthony walk up. We're near the front, so only a few more minutes of waiting until we could get in.
(I've never been to stardust, so I just looked up pictures of it. If I get something wrong, I'm sorry. Ily!)Once we're seated on the shiny, plush, red seats I pick up the menu. The walls are decorated it beautiful vintage-styled items that transported me from modern day to a 1950s diner. A few performers are dancing on tables and between costumers. This is one of the most exciting places I've ever been.
