we should hang- part 9

AN hey so i want your input. Should Maddie end up dating Josh or Riley. I have a few plots in mind, but i want you guys to choose. I'm going to decide tomorrow, August 27, based on your comments.

I flop onto my bed and think about her until dinner. Ugh, I don't know what to do.

*Josh pov*

It was 4:00, so I expected Maddie would be home from school. I texted her.
Me: Hey!
Maddie: Hey Josh! Sup
Me: nm, just sitting in my room
Maddie: cool, same tho 😂
Me: do you wanna do something
Maddie: ya, lemme ask Groff. He's lile the only one who doesn't care if im with a guy lol
Me: k. Tell me when u find out.
A few moments pass and I wait for a response.

*Maddie pov*

After Josh texts me I run to Lin and Groff dressing room. I knock on the door and hear Groff yell "come on in!" In his king George voice. I open the door and walk in laughing, realizing Lin isn't there. "Where'd Lin go?" I asked the half done king George sat in front of me. "Don't know, he said he'd be a while though. Why?" He says. "I came to ask you something, cause you're the most chill. Uh, can i go around the city with Josh? We aren't dating or anything, it's just his day off and I'm  bored." (AN idk when his day off really is let's just pretend it Wednesday k?) He looks at me for a second.

"Well, Lin and like all the other guys wouldn't let you... so go ahead. I don't care, as long as you're safe. I trust him, he knows his way around here by now, but if he does anything to you he's gonna get beat by all of us." He says. "Cool, thanks!" I say and run out of the room.

*Groff pov*

Maddie came into the room and asked me if she could walk around with a boy. I'm glad she thinks of me as the chill one, that's so sweet. I let her go, she's thirteen and Josh is fourteen, and he knows his way around New York. Plus, when he first met her, he was so scared of us. He wouldn't hurt her.

Lin comes in about 30 minutes later and tells me he couldn't find Maddie. He looks flustered and worried. I jump up and go over to him. "Lin, Lin, it's ok. She came in here earlier and asked me if she could go out. Her and Josh went on a little walk, she'll be back later." I said, calming him. But then he realized she was with a guy.

"HOWCOULDYOULETHEROUTINNEWYORKCITYWITHABOYONTHEIROWNGROFF!" He shouts. (Translation: how could you let her out in New York city with a boy on their own groff!)

"Its alright. He knows his way around and he was so scared of Anthony, oak and daveed, I don't think he could hurt her if he wanted to." I said and Lin calmed down. "Alright. She's fine." He said, visibly relaxed.

*josh pov again*

After about 3 minutes, she texts again.
Maddie: i can go. Meet me at stage Door in 15?
Me: cool
Maddie: see ya
Me: bye🖐
I went to my closet to find something. I picked out khaki joggers and a grey polo shirt. I'm still worried that this is too dressy, but i need to leave if I'm going to make it on time.

I approach the stage door and it opens. "Ready?" I ask. She's wearing a cute sundress and carrying a purse. "Ya. Where are we going?" She asks.

*Maddie pov*

I send the message and immediately rush to my closet and look for something to wear. I look through everything. Those dresses are too fancy. The shorts are too casual. But this is casual. Oh! A sundress, that would be perfect. I put it on then put some money, my phone, and my lip gloss in my bag. I do really simple makeup and spritz a little perfume on.

I walk out of the stage door and see Josh immediately. We stand there for a few minutes chatting and i ask him where we're going.
