My daughter is safe. She hasn't even seen Riley yet, but once she does, she sobs harder.

The police officers come in and cut the ropes off of my face and hands that bound me to the chair I was in. I was crying, then they opened the door and i clutched Anthony. I looked over hos shoulder slightly and saw Riley, bloody and unconscious on the floor. I sobbed and heard sirens. The loaded my boyfriend into an ambulance, then Anthony and Jazz into another. I boarded the one with Riley on it, and cried the whole way there. I clutched his hand and prayed that he would be alright.

We pull up to the hospital and Riley is taken away from me. They put him into surgery immediately, Anthony soon following. I collapse into jazz in the waiting room, and we cry together. This was all my fault. If i wasn't here, if I hadn't gone to the bathroom, if i took the bullet, my father and boyfriend would be fine. I should be the one with a bullet in me, not them.

About two hours later, a nurse comes over to us. It's about 10 pm. "Are you the family of Mr. Anthony Ramos?" She asks, her light brown hair swaying. "Yes." Jazz and i say simultaneously jump up. "He's out of surgery. He's still asleep, but he'll be fine. Just make sure he doesn't lift anything too heavy for a few weeks, and he has to take it easy." She explains. Jazzy and i are overjoyed that he will be fine. "Umm, do you know anything about Riley Akers?" I nervously ask the nurse. She flips through a fee pages then responds. "He's still in surgery, but he should me out pretty soon. He'll have to be really gentle and rest for a few weeks, maybe a month." She says, then leaves.

Jazz and i stand up and go to Anthony's room. We sit next to his bed for about an hour, then a nurse comes running in. "You're with Riley Akers as well, correct?" She asks and i nod, standing up. I just want to see him again. To hug him, he gives the best hugs. "Could one of you come with me?" She asks and i follow her. She begins explaining. "He's out of surgery, but he may not wake up for quite a few days, most likely a week." She says and i start crying. She opens the foor to his room, and i see him on the bed.

His skin is pale and his arm and leg are wrapped with red stained gauze. I run to him and hold the hand on his good arm. The nurse checks a few things, then leaves. A piece of his still gelled hair in hanging on his face. I take a wet paper towel and wipe the gel out of his hair. I kiss his forehead and sit by his head. I text jazz what room I'm in, then she comes a few minutes later. "How's he doing?" She asks. "He won't wake up for... About a week." I say, and she hugs me. "Aww, honey, it's ok. He'll be alright. Let's get you some food, you haven't eaten all day." She says, bringing me to the cafeteria. I get a grilled cheese and French fries and eat it quickly.

We go up to Anthony's room, where he is awake. I go over to his right side, since his left shoulder is bandaged, his arm in a sling. We wrap our arms around each other. "I'm so glad you weren't hurt, smol little baby laf." He says, pulling a smile out of me. "Im only letting you call me that because of the circumstances. I'm so sorry, really. This shouldn't have happened." I say.

"No, honey no. It's not your fault. Someone was stupid and he did this. I'm sorry." He says, still hugging me. "I hated Jayson. He was the worst. He was one of my first foster father's and i lived with them for 2 and a half years." I say, crying. "They arrested him. Hes gone now." He says, then pulls me onto the bed. We sit there, jazzy on a chair, holding his hand and leaning her head in his lap, and watch television on the small hospital tv. Before i fall asleep, I walk off to Rileys room and fall asleep on the chair in there.

I wake up holding Rileys hand, his body still unmoving. I turn on the small tv and sit on the edge of his bed.
