Liam was determined. He had been thinking about it over the weekend, but he had at least made up his mind. He was going to ask Ariana out. He didn’t know how or when but he was definitely determined to do it.

He woke up early and waited for her to arrive while he made breakfast for the two of them and smiled as he heard her come in through the front door.

“Hi boss” She smiled brightly at him

“How are you today? Got a good rest yesterday?” He asked

“I did yeah… I literally didn’t do anything… It’s been ages since I was able to lay in bed and do nothing all day… It felt so good” She replied as she went over to the service room to leave her bag and returned

“Well, have a seat… I made breakfast for us…”

Her face lit up again as she sat right in front of him at the counter

“Thank you… Looks really good” She said

“Dig in please…” He said, digging his fork into his scrambled eggs

“Oh thank you…” She said savoring every bite

“You’re welcome…” He said looking at her, enjoying the expression on her face when she took every bite

“I was hoping you’d help me out today with something…” He said

“Absolutely!”

“Remember that lasagna you made the other day?” He asked, observing her as she nodded “I was hoping you could teach me how to do it”

“Really?” She asked with her mouth full

“Yeah… It’s my mum’s birthday tomorrow, so I’m going up to Wolverhampton and I’m cooking for her… For the entire family actually” He said

“Oh… I… I’d love to teach you” She said excitedly

Forty minutes later the two of them were choosing ingredients as they roamed the isles at the supermarket.

“Ok… Garlic” She said reading the next item on the list

“I think that’s this way” he said pushing the cart down the isle

“So… How was your weekend? Did you manage to talk to that girl that you like?” Asked Ariana all of a sudden

“Uh… Actually, no… I didn’t really see her” He said trying to sound casual and not give himself away

“Oh… Well… I’m sure you will…” She said

Liam turned around to look at her and he found her staring at a box of cereal, so he couldn’t really see her expression. He had been wondering if seeing someone else would spark some sort of reaction in her, or how would she react if he told her he liked her, or if he asked her out.

Would you consider going out with me or would you run away in the opposite direction? He thought.

“How was that party you went to?” He asked trying to make conversation

“Boring” She stated making him laugh

“That boring?”

“Terribly boring… And I wasn’t really in the mood to be there…”

“Really? Why?” He asked

“I don’t know…” She said looking down for a moment before looking at him, who was looking at her expectantly “I guess I had a lot on my mind… Ok… We only have to get the cheese and we’re done”
