A Story Of Love And Struggle (Liam Payne)

CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

Ariana sat in the back yard while she chatted to her sister on skype while the two of them planned Liam’s birthday celebration.

After that terrible incident with his mother, Ariana had decided that even though her circumstances were different, she was going to tell her family about Liam.

More than being shocked about her having a boyfriend, they had been shocked about finding out that they lived together, but as they couldn’t do much to prevent it they had decided to keep their opinions to themselves.

“But… I don’t know what to do, I mean, I’m sure he’ll love spending time with his friends… I just can’t afford a big party! I’m nearly broke” She explained to her sister

“Yeah but it’s his birthday… You can’t be cheap Ariana! You live in his house and he treats you like a princess... You love him don’t you?” Asked her sister

“Joana! Of course I do” Huffed Ariana

“Then you go all out for him… I could send you some money if you need to spend a bit more” Said her sister

“You don’t have to do that… I guess I can manage” She added knowing that if she went for the big party her bank account would be nearly empty

“Besides, there’s things you could do to save a bit of cash…” Said her sister

So after hanging up with her sister, Ariana’s to do list included baking a cake, buying party decorations, cooking snacks, buying drinks and inviting Liam’s friends.

She had called Zayn and Perrie for help as Ariana knew very little who she could call and invite. Perrie had suggested they met at her house so they could plan properly without being heard by Liam.  It hadn’t been hard to convince Liam that she was going to meet Jonathan at the library so they could work on a project before they had to attend classes that night.

“Well… I was thinking about a small celebration” She explained to Zayn and Perrie

“Small?” Asked Zayn

“Yeah” She nodded

“But…” Protested Zayn before he started counting on his fingers “How small are we talking about?”

Ariana didn’t know how to reply. She would have preferred doing something alone with Liam, but her sister’s words kept ringing in her head “You have to go all out Ariana…”

“Ten… Twelve people…” she replied in a small voice that seemed to fade at the end

“Just ten?” Asked Perrie

“I hate to admit it, but honestly I can’t afford a really big celebration” She confessed

“Oh that’s not really a problem” Said Zayn

“Well, not for you ‘cause you’re extremely rich…” Said Ariana

Zayn and Perrie laughed while she bit her lip and gave them a worried look

“Look, don’t worry about it and tell us what you need” Said Zayn giving her a carefree smile that told Ariana that she didn’t need to worry about anything

She launched to explain her plans for her boyfriend’s birthday while the two of them gave her different ideas of how to make it better. They called a bunch of friends and by the end of the afternoon over twenty people had agreed to be at his birthday party.

Louis and Zayn had agreed to take care of the drinks and Harry was supposed to help Ariana and Perrie with the food. Apparently he was all about cooking lessons as of late and he gladly volunteered for the job. Niall’s job was to keep Liam busy on Friday and invite him to play golf for the day while the rest of them got everything ready.
