“Ari…”
Ariana was dragged out of her deep slumber by the voice of her boyfriend calling out her name. She opened her eyes slowly and looked at him for a few seconds.
Ari… He’s calling me Ari… She thought, feeling a small glimmer of hope starting to glow inside of her
She had fallen asleep on the couch in front of the huge T.V on the T.V room while she hugged the large stuffed elephant Liam had sent out as a present for her a couple of weeks before.
“Hi…” She said slowly as she sat up on the couch “What time is it?”
“It’s noon” He replied
“Oh… I completely dozed off…” She said fixing her hair a little
“Ari… We need to talk…” He said
“Oh God… You’re breaking up with me?” Her eyes filled with tears again as she asked what she had been dreading to ask, but given Liam’s serious tone, she feared that’s what he wanted to talk about
“No… Why are you saying that?” He asked
“Well, you said you wanted to talk to me… You never talk to me so seriously… I…” She stammered
“No… Ari, I’m not breaking up with you” He said sitting next to her and taking her hand
“Oh, thank God” She said full of relief before hugging him really tight
He hugged her back and she realized it felt as though her soul had just returned to her body, after spending hours and hours mortifying about the fact that Liam hated her and he was going to leave her.
“I thought you were going to leave me because you hated me…” She admitted
“No… Love, I was just really angry… But, I know you were being honest… I know you would never kiss a guy like him” Said Liam
Ariana pulled away and looked at him
“You do?” She asked in disbelief. After the way Liam had reacted to the infamous kiss, she found it really surprising to find out he believed what she had told him
“Yes… I’m sorry I didn’t believe you… I was just so angry…” He admitted
“Yeah… You were” She nodded lowering her head “But I’m sorry too… Because when Nathan kissed me I just stood there like a statue… But I promise you that I don’t want to kiss anyone who isn’t you…”
“I… I know… But… Love, I want to leave all that behind…” He said
“And we will… I promise you…” Said Ariana
“Ari… I just… I can’t help feeling that with time we’ve sort of drifted apart” He said
Ariana wanted to say that it wasn’t true, but he was right because no matter what, their jobs kept distancing them all the time.
“But we can make it work… We just really have to try…” She said
“Ari… I’ve been thinking about our relationship… Haven’t you noticed how much it’s changed?” He asked
Ariana nodded knowing he didn’t exactly meant it had changed for the better.
“Babe… I’m afraid if we carry on like this… Well… We won’t be able to survive for much longer…” He said
“No… Liam don’t say that… Please…” She shook her head in denial
“Ariana…” He whispered
