Bonus Chapter 2!!

As promised, here's another bonus chapter. This one takes place four years after Liam and Ariana's wedding

“How was the meeting babe?” Asked Liam coming to wrap his arms around Ariana from behind. She was putting some sodas in the refrigerator for Ian’s birthday party later.

“It was good… Three more weeks and this couple will be married… Bridezilla will go on her honeymoon and you and I will be at the beach… Having a tan” Said Ariana 

She turned around, pushing the refrigerator door closed with her foot while she wrapped her arms around Liam’s neck.

“Throw in a couple of cocktails… We’ll need a few drinks to keep it together through the children safe vacation…” He said before the guilty expression reappeared in his face

“Hey…” Said Ariana running her fingers through his scalp while he held on to her waist “Remember what we said the other day?”

“Yep…” He nodded

“Which was…?”

“To not feel guilty about wanting to get away from the boys for a little while…” He said

“We love the boys with our heart and soul but we can’t feel guilty about leaving them for a week… And that doesn’t mean we’re bad parents either…” Said Ariana trying not to let her guilt show too much on her face

She understood what Liam felt completely, but she had also been the first to admit that the two of them needed to make some time for themselves before the parenting took away all the romance in their lives.

“I know… We’re pretty decent parents are we?” He asked

“Absolutely… I mean… there’s a lot to improve obviously, but we do alright…” She admitted

“Of course, love” Nodded Liam before leaving a brief kiss on her lips and then adding another not so brief one that transformed into something a little more heated than a regular kiss

“Do you think we can have some time for ourselves before the….”

“Mommy!” Whined Ian, their younger son

“Never mind…” Finished Liam releasing her as their two year old ran into the kitchen crying

Ariana took a deep breath and swallowed her annoyance before looking down at her son with a smile.

“What’s going on baby?” She asked dropping to her knees before her son

He stretched his hand showing his favorite stuffed monkey that now had a nearly amputated arm hanging by a couple of threads.

“Boo boo…” He sobbed while a couple of big tears ran down his little face

“Holy shh…” Managed to say Liam before Ariana shot him a deathly glare “What happened to Mr. Bananas?”

Ian couldn’t formulate another word, he was too devastated to speak.

“Oh sunshine… Come on…” Said Ariana getting back on her feet and picking up her son in her arms to take him towards the tv room where she sat on the couch to examine the toy up close

In the tv room, Kellan, her oldest son sat on the floor playing with the train Liam had gotten him and his brother a few days before. He looked up at them as the three of them came into the room but only for a minute before focusing back on his train.

“Do you want to sit with daddy while I try to fix Mr. Bananas?” She offered Ian giving him a bright smile

“Noo!” He wailed “I want mommy!”
