No One's POV

Normani and Vanessa are talking on her bed.

"If you really aren't happy, then why won't you leave him?"

"We've been over this a million times-"

"-I know, but now I'm asking from a family standpoint. Why are you leading him on to think you still love him?"

Normani shrugs. "....I still love him, I guess. Every time I try to leave; or talk about leaving, he does what attracted me to him in the first place. It's a never ending cycle and I can't control it. My conscience is saying to leave, but my heart is still there. As much I want to leave, I can't,"

"So why are you trying to get at me?"

"I'm trying because I love you, duh." Normani chuckles, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"Do you love me because I'm his cousin, or do you love me for me?" Vanessa asks.

"I love you for you. I fell in love with your personality and that's still the same to this day,"

"If you really are serious, then I want you to do something,"

"Anything,"

"Really?" Vanessa asks, curiously.

"Seriously,"

"Okay, well what I want you to do first is give him back the engagement ring,"

"Vanessa, it's not that easy-"

"-You said you'd do anything."

Normani sighs. "I know but, it's so hard. I love you and him but I love you more...I think." She chuckles.

"You think? Gee thanks." Vanessa laughs.

"No problem." Normani chuckles. "Can I just....stop wearing it? I can't give it back right now."

"Why not?"

"....I don't know. I don't have the guts to go up to him and say that I want to break up, because when he gets really upset his sociopathic disorder gets in the way and he starts drinking,"

"I believe that his dad will be able to get through to him. They're alike on that way. His father is literally the sane version of him,"

"But on some real shit....you really think I should leave him?"

"If he's not treating you right, yes. If you want to get with me as revenge, no,"

"It wouldn't be revenge baby. It's just that I caught feelings for someone in the same family. I didn't mean to, but things happen for a reason," Normani says.

"Well, after you give back the engagement ring, I want you to get my first initial tattooed on your finger,"

"Does it have to be today?"

"No, just sometime soon. Ideally the end of the week,"

Normani sighs. "Fine, you have a deal,"
