Vanessa's POV

School has been quite normal for the past two periods. You know, the name calling, the sarcastic comments.

But the only thing not normal is Sammy. She's been keeping her distance, and she hasn't made any efforts to talk to me.

I haven't gotten time to myself in years, and it's about time I get a chance to live.

As I'm walking to class, I see a girl standing against the wall with no one next to her. So, I walk up to her. "Hi," I say.

She looks at me, and then looks away. Apparently, one of her friends come up the stairs, so she walks away with them.

My phone goes off with a message.

X.XXVIII 🔐🖤- Heyyy baby girl.

To: X.XXVIII 🔐🖤
Heyyy Maniii.
How are you today?

X.XXVIII 🔐🖤- I'm good.
How about you?

To: X.XXVII 🔐🖤
I'm actually feeling really good today.

X.XXVIII 🔐🖤- That's great baby.
How've your classes been?
And how's it been with...that person?

To: X.XXVIII 🔐🖤
My classes have been good so far.
And I have not seen her today.

X.XXVIII 🔐🖤- YAY.
...I didn't mean to say it like that. 😂😂

To: X.XXVIII 🔐🖤
Sure you didn't. 😂
I'm going to math class, wish me luck. 🙏🏼😂

X.XXVIII 🔐🖤- I am. 🙏🏾😂
I love you. 💘

To: X.XXVIII 🔐🖤
I love you too.

I'm in my math class, doing the work she assigned, while trying very hard to tune out her comments with the rest of my class.

"She's putting on a front that she never liked Sammy which we all know is a lie."

"She's not even worth fighting over."

"Nobody wants her because she has a--"

"--Can you have some respect for her?" Emma asks, looking up from her paper, as my "aunt" stops her comments.

"I'm not giving respect to someone who doesn't give it to me,"

"What have I ever done to you?" I ask.

"Where should I start?" She chuckles.

"Are you mad at me because Ally and I convinced David to get out of the ring? Or are you mad because his father left you?"

"The only reason he left is for that slut that can't stay in a relationship. I thought you were better than that,"

"I thought you realized that there's a thin line between personal matters and school-related matters."

"There is, but you crossed it the day you decided to step foot in my classroom. I can't be a teacher when someone is trying any and everything to make me lose my job,"

"Bitch, the only job you'd be good at is teaching sex ed," I say, causing everyone to laugh.

"Look who's talking, the person that had a threesome on tape." She chuckles.
