Chapter 166- Zoo🦁

"How long did you stay there?" Nik asked as he held his wife closer to his side. It had occurred to him that he hadn't spent much time with her since the wedding and he was adamant to change that.

"Ten years"

"That's where you were" Jenna gasped out, at the time they'd presumed that they had both gone on a blood rampage but now they thought differently.

"The place they kept us is now being used as a home for lily and Charlie"

"Well we go there and we kill them"

"It might not be that easy but a fight is coming. Let's just try and have a call day today okay? We all deserve it" Enzo sighed and huddled Bonnie into his side.

"Yeah, come on love" Klaus took Bella's hand and guided her from the room.

"Where are we going?"

"The zoo, Henrik! Jeremy!"

"We're right here!"

"Well let's go then"

"Why did you randomly decide to go to the Zoo?" Jeremy asked his father as Klaus drive down the road. Bella looked up from where she was fiddling with the radio, curious about his answer.

"I didn't go 1000 years searching for the perfect family to never spend time with them"

"We're always here Nik, no matter what is happening, we'll never leave you" Bella responded and leant over to kiss his cheek.

"As am I for you" he answered and took her hand as he continued to drive.

They soon arrived at the zoo and Bella hopped out, heading to get a parking ticket, vaguely aware that more cars were pulling in. It took her until she was back to realise that it was some of her family ; Jenna, Alaric, Rebekah, Elijah, Caroline, Katherine, Bonnie, Matt, Lavender and Nadia.

"Hey" she  greeted with hugs. "Where's Damon, Stefan and Enzo?"

"They didn't want to come but we are here. Let's go have some fun!" Caroline giggled and they all smiled. Nik took Bella's hand and they walked to the gates where they compelled their way in.

"What animal do you want to see first?" Elijah asked as he looked at a map that was given to him in a brochure style.

"Monkey! Monkey!" Nadia squealed and they all laughed before walking to the monkey center. Nik and Bella hung back to talk as the others entered.

"I'm sorry" he whispered and laid his head against hers.

"For what?" She queried and removed his sunglasses.

"For not spending much time with you when you needed me"

"You're here now, that's all that matters" she kissed him and he returned it before they entered the room to see Nadia clapping at a monkey and Jeremy and Henrik play fighting.

"Oi, no" Nik scolded and pulled them apart, they pouted but apologized halfheartedly when they caught Bella's gaze.

"Aw, I can't wait until you and Bella have a baby" Katherine giggled to Nik and he smirked in thought. Katerina rolled her eyes at his famous smirk and wrapped her free arm around Elijahs waist, glad to see that he'd ditched his usual suit for once.

"Are we done here?" Ric queried as he held Jenna's hand, pulling her out if a conversation with Bella.

"No!" Nadia demanded and continued to babble to the monkeys.

"Come on sunshine, there's more animals to see" Elijah attempted to persuade his stubborn daughter but she merely stuck her tongue out at him.

"On second thoughts, I don't want kids" the original hybrid mumbled and Bella gently hit his torso. Klaus caught her wrist and smiled warmly at her. "I'm joking love" he whispered and kissed her temple.

"I know"

"Right, Nadia, we're going now" Katherine demanded and the toddler began to cry, causing Elijah to grumble as people began to stare.

"Hey Nadia, how about we go see the lions?" Bella asked her softly and the toddler stopped crying, running into Bella's arms and giggling. "I'll take that as a yes"

"How are you so good with her?" Elijah asked sadly, it really annoyed him that the baby never listened to him.

"You just need to say the things that'll persuade her Lijah. Don't demand her, just give her something she wants more" Bella explained and handed him his daughter who smiled sweetly at him.

"Let's go see the lions then" Rebekah smirked and they all exited the room, heading halfway across the zoo to find the lions cage.

"Why do they keep lions?" Henrik asked his mother who was walking with her arms around Nik. Klaus pondered the question briefly before answering.

"Because humans like to think they have more power than anything"

"But that's not true"

"No it isn't, we're the strongest"

"Where's Dorian and Davina?"

"At home" Elijah asked and cringed making Bella wrinkle her nose slightly and for Niklaus to chuckle. He glanced down at her and smiled, soon they were going to go on the family holiday to Iceland and he couldn't wait.

"I think we should kill charlie" Jeremy spoke and they all glanced at him.

"That's the plan bud"

"Right now"

"We can't yet Jer, we don't know where he is" Bella responded and fixed her sons hair which had flopped in the wrong direction.

"But we will soon?"

"Of course we will" Elijah told his nephew as they arrived at the lions. Nadia clapped instantly, before she'd even seen a single lion and everyone smiled gently.

"When all this is over Bella, I'll show you the love you deserve" Klaus whispered and held her tighter, she smiled up at him.

"Not before I get a chance to show you everything you've missed out in" she replied and kissed him softly.
