Chapter 39 "Catching Fire or Catching Me?"

Bakit ganoon? Hindi pa rin maalis sa isip ko ang mga pangyayaring naganap kanina.

"Wala lang. You're just.. beautiful."

I don't know what happened to my system pero parang tumigil ito. Parang tumigil ang oras at ang nakikita ko lang ay si Teal.

Gwapo pala talaga siya? Ang cute din ng dimples niya ah.

"Nagagwapuhan ka ba sa'kin?" tanong niya.

Para akong nawala sa sarili at napatango na lang ako bilang sagot.

Mukhang nagulat naman si Teal sa inasta ko at ngumiti ng mas malapad.

"That's the first time I ever had a compliment from you. Way to go, Queen." sabi ni Teal at inakbayan niya ako.

Ugh! What the hell is happening with you, Regina?!

It's already two o'clock midnight yet I still couldn't sleep because of that damn scene!

Bakit ba hanggang sa utak ko binubulabog pa rin ako ni Teal?

At dahil nahihirapan na ako, I decided to call Margaret.

"Bruha!" bati ko nang sagutin na niya ang tawag ko.

"Demonyita! Bakit ka tumawag ng ganitong oras? Bampira ka na ba?" sagot niya.

"Gaga! May problema kasi ako."

"So, call center agent na ko ngayon?"

"Haha, so funny. Look, I'm serious." sabi ko.

"Okay, okay. I'll try to listen like I care."

Masanay na kayo dyan sa frenemy ko. Wala talaga kaming matinong usapan.

"Okay, here it goes. Hindi kasi ako makatulog-" pagsisimula ko ng pagkukwento.

"So, do you want me to sing you a lullaby? Geez, grow up!"

"Pwede bang patapusin mo muna 'yong kwento ko?" iritableng tanong ko.

"Fine. Go ahead. I'll try not to interrupt again."

"Okay, 'yon nga. Hindi ako makatulog kasi something's bothering me. Kanina kasi, I was with this guy na sobrang sinusungitan at iniirita ko pero hindi siya naiinis. How could that be possible? Then, when we were at some restaurant, he said that he isn't pissed off by my kamalditahan instead he's enjoying it. What a joke, right? Then, all of a sudden his saying something like sinusumpa kita, pero hindi sa ganoong paraan. What the hell does that mean? After that, all of a sudden, he dragged me out of the school where it rained cats and dogs. How lucky! But that wasn't a sarcasm. We were indeed lucky. 'Cause I admit it, I kind of enjoyed the rain especially with him goofing off. And there's a surprising part, when he held my hand, which he does all the time, I kind of felt safe and happy."

Habang nagkukwento ako, pakiramdam ko ay nauulit uli ang lahat ng mga nangyari sa araw na ito sa utak ko.

But instead of feeling iritated, a smile formed in my face. I just enjoyed repeating it over and over in my head.

"I bet you're smiling from ear to ear." mapang-asar na sabi ni Margaret.

"H-How did you know?"

"It's because I know how it feels like. I know what you're feeling right now."

"Really? Then, tell me."

"You're in love."

Nang marinig kong sinabi 'yon ni Margaret, biglang tumaas ang mga balahibo ko at parang tumigil ang takbo ng oras at puso ko.
