Anxiety attack warning I suppose

It was really dumb. He knew it was a stupid reason to panic, knew he shouldn't have let it get to him but he hated when people were angry. It didn't even matter that he didn't know the guy, didn't matter that his anger wasn't even directed towards him, it as made him anxious. Now here he was, hiding away in a public bathroom, unable to breathe due to his panic.

He really hoped no one would walk in, God, that was the last thing he needed right now.

It seemed that the universe was not on his side today, as he heard the door open and someone making their way inside, their footsteps loud on the tile flooring. Painfully loud, with each step Virgil flinched, backing into the corner of the bathroom stall. He was crying, and of course with the universe against him he had made a noise.

The footsteps stopped. Virgil froze, hand over his mouth as he tried not to make another sound. He didn't want anyone to question why he was crying-oh how embarrassing would that be?

"Is someone in here?" The man on the other side of the stall door called, seeming concerned. "Are you alright?"

Virgil didn't know whether or not he should answer, or if he even could. He didn't want to. Was that rude? Hopefully the man would go away. What if he got mad at him for ignoring him?

"I'm fine." Virgil blurted, not wanting to make anyone mad or worried. He just wanted him to leave. Please, he begged silently, please leave. He was shaking now. "I'm fine, don't worry."

"You sounded like you were crying. Are you sure you're alright?" The man asked again. Virgil stayed silent for a while, contemplating whether or not he should respond.

"I have anxiety. I'm having an attack, so I hid in the bathroom. Please, just let me be." Virgil pleaded, and the man was silent for a while. Virgil sighed, feeling relieved. He must be leaving now, at least, he hoped.

This was definitely not helping to calm him down. Now all he could think about was how weird and stupid and crazy he must sound. Hiding in the bathroom crying, all because someone was grumpy and it made him anxious. Whoever that was was probably judging him right now, would probably tell all his friends about the crazy guy in the bathroom.

"So, I know this is weird." The man started to talk again, and Virgil froze once more. "Although we do not know each other, I understand dealing with anxiety is hard, and I would like to help. Would a distraction help?"

Virgil frowned. He wanted... to help him? Some random stranger he met in the bathroom? Virgil probably shouldn't complain-a distraction from his current panic sounded amazing.

"Y'know what, yeah. Yeah, a distraction sounds great right now." Virgil nodded, and did his best to focus all his attention on this moment. He would be fine, he could work through this. Don't worry about anyone or anything else.

"Okay, well, what's your name?" The man asked, and Virgil frowned. He was always a bit embarrassed to share his name-and he also definitely wasn't going to be the first to share his. He had already opened up to this man, now he was going to find out more about him before revealing anything else.

"You tell me yours first." Virgil insisted, and the other man laughed.

"Alright, well, I'm Logan. Now can I know yours?"

"It's... Virgil." He spoke hesitantly. "But, you can call me Verge for short."

"Alright, Verge." Logan started. "What's your favorite Disney movie?"

"That's very random." Virgil commented, and he heard Logan laugh again. He liked his laugh. It was nice.

"Well, it was the first thing I could think of. Is it helping to distract you?" It really was helping. Virgil couldn't remember any time before now that he was able to talk to a stranger so easily. Maybe it helped that he couldn't see his face.
