It was clear as day that Shawn's younger sister, Aaliyah, had taken an immediate liking to his girlfriend as soon as he had introduced them to each other.
They both connected and found themselves being the best of friends, practically sisters, despite only knowing each other a short amount of time.
Shawn was so incredibly happy that they got along because that was the most important thing in a relationship; knowing that his family loved his girl as much as he did.
"Hello, Y/N's phone!" When Aaliyah's voice sounded through the speaker when Shawn called, his face screwed up in confusion. "What do you want brother?"
"Well, I was calling to talk to my girlfriend but I guess she's busy with another Mendes." His face changed from confused to smiley at the sound of the two girls through the phone.
"Yeah, thing is, she's actually busy with her favorite Mendes. Can I take a message?" His sisters teasing voice made him let out a little chuckle.
It had been an on going thing for her to tease him whenever they were spending girl time together without him. He loved when they sent him photos and videos of each other because it proved that they weren't faking to get along in front of him; they genuinely really loved each other like the sisters they never had and it melted Shawn's heart to know that.
"Just put me on speaker please." Aaliyah mumbled an 'Kay down the phone when she had done as requested by her older sibling.
"I'm driving, what's up?" Y/N's voice sent an automatic smile to Shawn's face at the sound of it.
"Just wanted to see what you were up to today but I guess I've been replaced." He chuckled down the line and he could already picture both girls rolling their eyes at his statement like they usually did when he said that.
"Well, Aaliyah and I are going out for lunch with your mom then I'm taking her shopping since she's been a really good temporary replacement while you were on tour."
"If you're going with my mom, too, why didn't Aaliyah just ride with her?"
"I stayed at Y/N's house last night." Aaliyah confirmed and Shawn nodded his head before he realised that they couldn't see him.
"I see. What'd you do last night?"
"Watched movies, ate a bunch of junk food and cuddled." Aaliyah's voice was chirpy and Shawn could tell that she appreciated spending time with Y/N just as much as she appreciated spending time with Shawn. "She taught me how to do my own make-up, too."
"Sounds boring."
"You loved when I taught you about make-up, don't even deny it!" Y/N yelled down the phone causing the two girls to laugh together.
"Whatever." Shawn groaned and rolled his eyes despite the face they couldn't see his action. "Well, I'll let you go and have your girls day. Enjoy suckers!"
"Bye loser!" Aaliyah replied and then hung up the phone.
For the rest of the day, Shawn moped around his condo. Boredom had settled in no longer than an hour or two after his phone call with his sister and significant other. He was used to being with her or his friends or family when he came home from tour and this was the first time where he had no visitors the first day he was home.
He was on his fifth episode of Greys Anatomy when the sound of his phone ringing sounded from beside his legs on the sofa. He answered without checking the caller I.D.
"Hello?"
"Hey stud." Y/N. "So, you've got a new door man."
"How'd you know that?" Shawn questioned with confusion laced in his voice.
"Cause Aaliyah and I are currently in the lobby and he won't let us up cause he thinks we're some crazy psychos trying to stalk you." Shawn let out a laugh hearing his girlfriends annoyed and frustrated tone. "Can you come get us please?"
"Sure. I'll be down in a minute."
Shawn began chuckling when he exited the elevator and saw Y/N and his sister sitting on the modern looking (but extremely uncomfortable) sofa in the lobby.
He walked straight to the door mans desk and explained to him who they were for the next time and thanked him for keeping his privacy at mind in case something like that were to happen again and it were to be fans or paparazzi.
"Hey doll." He smiled widely when Y/N looked up from her phone when she noticed the shadow being cast over her figure. "Sorted that out so it won't happen again."
"About damn time." Aaliyah groaned and walked ahead of them towards the elevator.
"Thank god." She mumbled and stood up, taking Shawn's hand in hers as they began to walk to the elevator to head up to his condo. "That was so embarrassing."
"Least I know I can trust him not to let up crazy psycho stalkers."
"That's true."
The three waltzed into the condo and Aaliyah parted to the guest room to change into comfortable clothes she had left here for when she stays overnight and Y/N retreated to Shawn's bedroom to steal a pair of boxers to wear as shorts and one of his t-shirts.
The three met up again in the lounge and Shawn played the episode he was watching before he had to go rescue them from their embarrassing encounter with the new door man.
Shawn was too focused on the show to notice that Y/N had sprawled herself across the sofa with her head in Aaliyah's lap in a deep sleep after the long day they had.

Shawn liked his sisters post before disappearing to the bathroom and when he returned, both girls were cuddled up on the sofa sound asleep.
The sight melted his heart and he couldn't help but smile at the sight and snap a photo to post and save for himself.
