"Bottoms up!" Kayla yelled and Dan and I both took shots at the same time. Apparently, this is what every uni student did when they came back from the summer break. There was a bar almost on the campus that was crowded to the brim with students. Everyone came with their friends or with strangers to have a good time.
I put the shot glass down and smiled like an idiot. Dan looked at me and grinned. His eyes were crazy with excitement. My pupils were probably dilated as well.
"Our turn!" Kayla yelled again, grabbing Petra by the arm. Yelling was the only form of communication that we could use in the crowded bar that each other could hear.
"I'm not doing it! You guys know I don't drink!" Petra yelled back to Kayla.
"Whatever. My turn!" Kayla scoffed as the bartender poured her a shot.
"Yeah, Kayla!" Dan yelled. I cheered and fell against him a little, losing my balance.
"Phil, are you okay?" Petra asked in my ear as I fell again.
"Y-Yeah!" I hiccuped and grabbed onto Dan's shoulder. She furrowed her eyebrows and stepped back. Kayla took the shot and we cheered again.
We kept taking more and more shots. One after another, with not a care in the world. This went on for about 30 minutes.
Then some random guy came up to me and grabbed me by my shoulders. I didn't react right away. My mind was becoming blurrier with every shot.
"Hey, you're hot. Wanna make out?" The guy said in a slurred American accent. He was a little shorter than me, but he was also cute, with short blond hair. But when I squinted my eyes and cocked my head to the side, he took that as a yes and started to shove himself onto me and my lips touched his.
"Hey, asshole, that's my boyfriend!" Dan pulled the guy off of me. I couldn't react right. I didn't know what was going on.
"Dan, don't-" I slurred.
"Shuddup!" He screamed at me and held the kid up by the collar of his shirt. He looked terrified.
"He's mine!" Dan told him, anger taking over his eyes as he screamed.
"I-I'm sorry, man!" He stuttered, his glasses slipping down his face.
"Don't do it again!" Dan demanded, shaking the poor guy.
"Dan- stop!" I yelled angrily. He looked down at me, confused. I never said anything back, usually, because I was scared I was going to say something wrong.
"What, babe?" He asked. His anger was started to sober him, even though I was still so drunk.
"Let. Him. Go." I growled ferociously. Dan let go of his collar and he ran away quickly. I started to walk closer to him with anger in my eyes.
"Guys, we should all just go home." Petra pulled me away from Dan and held my shirt.
"You can go, I'm staying here." I hiccuped again. I grabbed a shot from the bar and downed it.
"I'm staying with Phil." Dan stumbled closer to me. I blinked slowly, trying to process what he was saying. This was the drunkest I had ever been and my mind wasn't working right. Or at all for that matter.
"Well, I think we're going to go." Petra said, grasping Kayla's hand and starting to pull her away.
"Yeah, see you guys later." Kayla agreed and they left. Dan handed me a full shot glass and got one himself.
"Cheers." He clicked his glass against mine and we took them.
Then it sank in. That was the last one I could take. I fell over onto Dan's body, not being able to control my own anymore.
