Chappy 42 (Part 1)

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Tinitigan ni Kaylee ang sarili sa salamin and her reflection is obscured by a cloud of uncertainty. Hindi niya maalis ang pagkabahala na kanyang nararamdaman dahil sa gaganaping highschool ball mamayang gabi. The idea of attending the grand ball felt daunting for her, and she wasn't sure if she could handle it.
Kaylee paced back and forth in her room, her fingers nervously playing with the end of her hair while thinking if she'll attend or not. The annual highschool ball was the most prestigious event of the year, attended by the students of HIA University. Dati rati naman ay hindi nagdadalawang isip si Kaylee sa kanyang mga nagiging desisyon pero ngayon ay naguguluhan ito at napapaisip kung ano bang pumipigil sa knanya.

Just then, a loud knock on the door interrupted her thoughts, and Geli, her best friend, peeked inside. "Wazzup my super pretty, fabulous friend!" masiglang bati nito. "So tell me, are you ready to talk about the Highschool Ball?"

Kaylee let out a sigh and flopped down on her bed. "Hindi ko alam Geli. I mean, it's such a big deal, alam mo namang hindi ako sanay sa mga ganyang events"

"Kaylee,  it's a chance of a lifetime, and I won't let you miss it." Geli sincerely claimed

"Kaylee, darling, you must attend the grand ball! It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I want you to cherish every moment of it." singit ng mama ni Kaylee na ngayon ay kakapasok lang din ng kwarto

"Korek ka jan tita! It's going to be so much fun!" said Geli with matching giggling.

The pressure that Kaylee is feeling is mounting. She wasn't as outgoing as her friend Geli, and social events like the grand ball made her anxious.

I know you both want the best for me, but I'm not sure if the grand ball is my thing. Hindi ako kumportable sa lugar na maraming tao, alam niyo yan---" naputol naman ang sasabihin nito ng sumingit si Geli

"Except when Zean is around. Wait— diba date mo siya?! OMG kawawa naman si Zean kapag di ka umattend" tinitigan naman ito ni Kaylee ng masama

"Sweetie, I understand your concerns, but stepping out of your comfort zone can be a rewarding experience. The grand ball is a chance to meet new people, make friends, and grow as a person.

"Tama si tita,  Kaylee! It's our last ball kaya tumayo kana jan at mag-ayos!" pamimilit nito, Halos isang oras na nilang kinakausap si Kaylee pero hindi parin sila makakuha ng siguradong sagot.

"Kaylee ano ba, hindi na ba talaga magbabago yang isip mo?"

"Enjoy the night Geli" ngumiti ito sa kaibigan kaya napabuntong hininga na lang ito at umalis ng bahay nila Kaylee. Sumunod namang lumabas ang mama ni Kaylee ngunit bumalik din ito agad ngunit may dala ng dress paired with white

"Kaylee" Ikinurap ni Kaylee ng paulit ulit ang mata niya nang mapagtanto niya na kanina pa siya nakatitig rito dahil sa ganda nito.

"Hindi nga ako aattend ma."

"Iiwan ko ito dito kung sakaling magbago ang isip mo." umupo ito sa tabi ni Kaylee at hinawi ang buhok nito.

"Highschool Ball is one of the best part of every students life. Hindi mo dapat pinapalagpas ang mga ganitong pangyayari sa buhay mo Kaylee. You still have time to decide baby. Think well before you regret it" lumabas ng kwarto ang mama niya at napabalik ang tingin niya sa black dress.

The night of the grand ball arrived. The dance floor was beautifully decorated, with soft music playing in the background and fairy lights twinkling above.

"Do I look great mom?" napaharap naman si Mrs Gonzales sa kanyang anak na ngayon ay pababa ng hagdan.

"You look stunning, sweetie, I'm so proud of you for coming." nakangiting sabi nito sa kanyang anak at niyakap.

KAYLEE GONZALES' POV

The night of the Grand Ball arrived, and I stood before the grand entrance of the venue, butterflies dancing in my stomach. Masyado akong kinakabahan ngayong araw at hindi ko alam kung bakit. Hindi maipagkakaila na pinaghandaan ng sobra ang highschool ball na ito. The school's gymnasium was transformed into a stunning venue with twinkling lights, elegant decorations, and a stage fit for a star. The students arrived, dressed to the nines, with laughter and excitement filling the air. Since our theme is Hollywood, I am wearing a sparkling black sheath v-neck spaghetti strap dress with high slit paired with 3 inches white heels dahil hindi ko keri mag-heels ng bongga. I styled my hair into old hollywood waves and putted simple make-up kase hindi ako marunong.

I saw Geli was twirling on the dance floor, surrounded by her other friends. Hindi ko na sana ito aabalahin pero mukhang nakita na niya ako dahil unti unti itong naglakad papunta sa pwesto ko na may malawak na ngiti.

"Kaylee! Oh my goodness, I can't believe you're here! I thought you weren't coming!"

"Well I guess, masyado kayong malakas mangumbinsi ni mom." natawa naman ito sa sagot ko.

"Aba dapat lang talaga gurl! Kase kung hindi, magtatampo ako sayo ng malala! Nevertheless, I'm so glad you did attend! You look absolutely stunning, Kaylee!" nakaramdam naman ako ng paginit ng mukha ko at pabirong hinampas ang balikat ni Geli.

"Tumigil ka nga ante. Alam mo namang hindi ako pala-ayos katulad mo, but I'm glad both you and my mom made the effort tonight."

"Well honestly, I'm just thrilled that you're here. Baka lahat ng chupaping bet ko mapunta sayo!" pabirong sabi nito.

"Lalaki nanaman? Di nauumay ante?"

"Walang dahilan para maumay 'no! Atsaka, aanhin ang magandang fes kung hindi gagamitin sa chupaping the best!"Hayst. Geli and her boy hunting habit

"And speaking of chupapi..." napalingon naman ako kung sana nakatingin si Geli. It's Rhyce! He's wearing a paisley pattern sequin red tuxedo which fits him perfectly.

"Akala ko Hollywood celebrity!" pagbibiro nito nang makita ako.

"I'll take that as a compliment" I said "Nagmukha kang tao ngayon ah." baik na biro ko naman

"I would not take that as a compliment, Kaye" natawa naman ako sa sagot nito.

"I've been looking for you everywhere Rhyce-- OMG Kaylee! You're heavenly!" and for the 2nd time, I blushed.

"Bakit nung si Rhyza nagsabi, nag-blush ka!" reklamo ni Rhyce.

"Sino ba naman kase magb-blush sa compliment mo te" pambabara ni Geli. Tiningnan naman ito ni Rhyce.

"You look elegant, as always" Rhyce randomly complimented Geli which makes her cheeks turned to pink. Natawa naman ako sa reaksyon ni Gel"Oh diba! nag-blush ka!" pambabasag ni Rhyce. Agaad namang natauhan si Geli.

"Ulol, ipaayos mo na yang mata mo!" lahat kami ay napatawa. Well, teasing each other became their hobby since we all became close to one another. Our closeness is unparalleled especially the three of us, Rhyza and Geli. We've been through a lot of girl's activities like shopping, sleepover, and of course, partying na hindi ko naman hilig pero napapasabak ako dahil sa mga demonyo kong kaibigan.

The doors of the gymnasium swung open dramatically, and the crowd erupted into cheers as Zean entered the gym. He was wearing a black floral embroidered double breasted suit in match with black high leather boots. His presence commanding attention from all around and everyone can't take their eyes off of him, and that includes me.
