Chapter 35: Halloween

Jack's POV:

So, a few weeks ago, I overheard Elsa telling her sister what she was gonna dressed up in for Halloween. She talked about a superhero named Marinette, so I looked it up on Google and turns out she's from this animated french tv show.

What I also found out is that she as a side kick! Well, partner, technically. And they fight crime and stuff. And it's pretty cool! So... I'm dressing up as Chat Noir for Halloween! When I told my sister, she got super excited. How come I didn't know she liked that show?

I bought the costume online. It was used, but it did cost me 60$... Not the best price, but not the worst, either. I looked at some costumes that cost like 200$! Now that's a lot!

Also, another thing... Elsa likes me! And like... 'like' like me! My sister told me! Apparently, when we went to the park that one time, Elsa was there too and Flee just went up to her and talk to her!

Flee wasn't supposed to tell me that, but I'm glad she did though, because Elsa told my sister how she truly felt about me. I still can't believe she didn't tell me when I told her! Just... relax Jack... All that matters is that she likes you and you like her...

Today is Halloween and we get half the day off. Well, we stay inside the school, but we get to dress up after lunch and play games or just hang out. The two first periods were boring, but then we had English with Mrs. White, and it was so cool!

The first half hour, we did some work, but for the rest, our teacher let us do what we wanted. Elsa, Hiccup and I just talked the whole time. Hiccup was gonna dress up as this cool modern-y looking Viking, Elsa was dressing up as... well, Marinette, aka Ladybug, and then me... Elsa asked me what my costume was, I just told her: "Wait and you'll see!"

Lunch finally happened and after we ate, I went to change into my costume. God I felt stupid! But it's for Elsa. Hopefully, she won't get mad at me... I mean, Chat Noir and Ladybug do make a great team... and great couple!

When I got out, the few people who were actually looking at me started laughing. I looked down and just continued walking. I sat down at our lunch table and just waited for... something to happen. Then Hiccup came and sat down in front of me. I chuckled softly.

"Dude! What are you dressed as?!" He asked me.
"*sigh* I'm dressed as Chat Noir in Miraculous Ladybug..." I whispered. He took out his phone and check it out.
"Why would you every do that?"
"Elsa's dressing up as Ladybug so..."
"Oh, the things you do for love!"
"Oh, shut up, you! What are you doing for Astrid?!"
"Well, we FaceTime every night and we send each other gifts, so... Still dating if you're wondering!"
"*grunt* Whatever, man!"

Then I heard Elsa's voice:

"Jack?"

Elsa's POV:

He can't be serious right now! He turned around and his jaw kinda dropped. He shook his head.

"E-Elsa! H-Hey!" He stuttered.
"What are you doing?!" I asked.
"I-I'm... Chat Noir?"
"*grunt* Just... follow me!"

I took him by the arm and we went to his spot.

"Woah... Elsa, are you okay?" He asked.
"No! I'm not okay! First of all, how did you know I was gonna be Ladybug for Halloween?! Second of all, why did you dress up as Chat Noir?! Third of all, how do you even know this show?!" I screamed.
"I-I overheard you talking to your sister about it and I looked it up on Google afterwards. My sister likes the show too, so... I just though it would be nice. But now, I realize it's not the best... I-I think..."
"Oh! You think?! We are not a couple, Jack! This isn't some cute couple's idea of doing matching Halloween costume! What is wrong with you?!"

He lightly gasped. I immediately regretted what I said.

"R-Right... We're not a couple... I know... We're friends... Just friends..." He said, softly.
"No. Jack! I didn't mean that!" I replied, putting my hand on his arm. He stepped back.
"No, no! I get it! We could never make a couple, right?! No! You're totally right! Oh, and to answer your question, everything! Everything is wrong with me!"
"Jack, no! Wait! That's no-"

"Don't bother! You explained it so well! God! And to think I was that stupid to think you could actually fall for me! *scoff* Wow! No, but thank you, though! For tell me all this! I really needed this! God, I can't believe I dressed up as a stupid cat for Halloween! Just for you!" He screamed.
"I never asked you to do this! Why are you even mad?!" I asked.
"Because everything I've ever done since we met, I did for you! And every time, you've just rejected me! I can't believe I stayed hung up on you for so long!"
"Excuse me?!"
"You heard me! Maybe we shouldn't have been friends!"
"Maybe we shouldn't have even met!"

He didn't say anything back, he just left. This is officially the worst fight Jack and I ever had! What happened? It went so bad! Well, actually, it's kind of my fault. No. It's entirely my fault! I was so stupid to say that!

"We're not a couple"?! Ugh! What is wrong with me?! I was so mean to Jack! The worst part is, he looked really cute dressed as Chat Noir! I don't even know why I got mad! It's just moving so fast and all... I'm just so stupid! Why do I always ruin my chance for love?

I have to do something... I have to fix this! Tomorrow at lunch, I'll fix everything. Hopefully, everything will go back to how it was! Or... well, maybe more than what it used to be...

Hey-ho! Alright! Next chapter is gonna be AWESOME!!! I can't wait to write it! I hope you liked this chapter (or maybe don't because Jelsa is fighting and almost not a thing).

Also, I'm starting a little personal project. I'm actually gonna write a book. Not a fan fiction: My own book. Maybe get the chance to publish it? I don't know... 16 years old and already publishing a actual book...
