Lapis POV

Steven handed me a paper, with an address and a name.

"Just go there, talk to peridot. I'm sure you two will get along" he winks, before I hear his dad call him.

"I uh... gotta go. Good luck with Dot!"

He ran off in the direction of his dads office, leaving me there to just stare at the paper.

MY "who" question was answered.

Peridot Greene. An interesting name. I smiled as i began to go through our first introductions. My first questions.

I hope this case is interesting. Steven had let me know that it had been a big deal a year or two ago, and went cold. But now some victims had been bringing it up, so the chief at the agency was forced to put someone on it.

And it just so happened that this... peridot, was also a friend of stevens.

I just hope he's nice. I could deal with maybe him being slightly annoying, but I would hate a flat out jerk.

Or if he hit on me. God I hated that. So many guys would walk up to me and shoot out cheesy one liners, hoping they'd get lucky.

I always felt a little bad for guys like that though. Because I turned them down every time.

Because well, I don't like guys. And not just in general.

I looked at the paper again, and took out my phone to input the street address. I couldn't wait to meet Peridot.

I walked into the building, and looked around. It was actually a nice place. Calming dark green wallpaper with white borders, and what appeared to be a reception desk?

I walked up, where a woman, who was probably taller then me, was sitting and typing, she stopping and looked at me.

"Hello, how are you today?" She paused, blushing a little. "Im sorry, ma'am, how may I help you?"

I gave her a smile, trying to make her feel a little less embarrassed. "Im looking for... " I glanced down at my Steven cheat sheet. "apartment 269?" I looked back up to her.

"Of course," she pointed to the stairs. "4th floor, should be on the right side of the hallway."

I nodded "thank you" and started walking.

I hated stairs. But today I didn't really mind, I was just taking in this place.

I will probably be coming here alot. Asking peridot about the case and all. Steven said something about being partners.

I assumed that meant time in the field, but even if that wasn't right, I was sure that this story would be great.

I walked down the hall, looking to my right.

265, 267, ah 269.

I paused for a second and breathed in, putting a smile on my face. And I knocked.

I heard papers inside and feet, bare I guessed, walking toward the door.

When it opened, I kept my smile, but this was not what I expected.

A woman, just... 2 inches shorter than me I think, stood there. Her blond hair was fluffy from a shower and she wore a pale green tee and grey sweats.

She looked tired, and she looked up at me with a confused and slightly annoyed look.

Oh god, she was kinda hot. Not in the straight up sexy way, but just in how she was kinda messy. I felt myself blush a little.

Could I not stop being gay for 5 seconds?!

"Hello... i umm..."

I was almost frozen, just staring at her.
GOD DAHMIT SPEAK.

"Do you need something or are you just gonna stand there?"

I looked down at my paper, a little flustered. This had to be wrong.... right?

"I'm sorry... I uh... I think I have the wrong adress?"

"Are you looking for someone?"

I nodded, trying to calm down. "Does a uhh.... Peridot... Greene live around here? I'm supposed to meet him."

Her expression changed slightly, her eyes getting a little wider. But then they went back to normal. and she leaned against the door frame.

"What if he did? Why do you wanna talk to him?"

Is this his girlfriend or something? I felt so embarrassed and i was kindof checking her out, and I felt myself kindof freeze up again.

"I... well..."

she looked at me with a blank face.

I sighed. I could probably just meet him tomarrow.

"N-nevermind. I'm sorry for disturbing you."

I turned, and walked back down the hall. My heart was beating unbelievably fast and the second I turned the corner I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, and I grabbed my chest.

What the hell is wrong with me?

[A/N HEHEHE YES. another chapter. Again, I was gonna do one a day, but I was thinking, what if I just did it every time I finished a chapter?
