Lapis POV

I didn't say a word. This guy... He looked so similar to peridot. His hair color, his eyes, hell even his smile. He was wearing a jet black suit and a dark green tie.

He faced me, but I didn't want to look.

"Hey~, what's a pretty girl like you doing all alone?" He chuckled. Ugh. One of these. I didn't say a word. Just kept my head down. I wanted to tell him to leave, but my mind was busy now.

I wanted Peri. I wanted her here. This guy reminded me so much of her it was driving me crazy, knowing she would never flirt with me like this. I felt my face get red as i continued to ignore sweet word and pickup line after sweet word.

I closed my eyes for a second. The guy turned, but not to leave. I didn't listion until...

"I could say the same for you." I instantly turned at the all too familiar voice, and I was not disappointed

Peri was standing in front of the guy, pure anger in her eyes. But I wasn't listioning to their words, I was just staring at her.

She was... wearing a suit? It fit her well, and I couldn't help but check her out a little. She looked amazing, but I brought my self back up to her face.

Oh I missed her face. As angry as she seemed, her small freckles and bright green eyes were the same.

She yelled, breaking me out of my trance. She breathed deeply, then looked back up at the guy.

"I will never. Ever. Forget."

Maybe I should have been paying attention... forget?

"Why don't we take this outside then?" I was surprises at the strangers words. Were they gonna...

My question was answered when peridot pushed him roughly towards and out a side exit. I quickly followed.

yeah, I should have been listioning.

Peri pushed him out and he stumbled, looking back.

"Looks like my doll came to watch me destroy you." Peri straightened and turned. Her gaze softened as she looked at me, her eyes were... sad?

The guy punched her while she was distracted and I flinched. Peri didn't seem very phased. She ran forward and did a move I've never seen, ending the guy with a busted lip and a ground hug.

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST QUIT NOW? YOU KNOW I'LL WIN." Peridot wasn't just mad. She was furious, and probably buzzed by the look of it. The guy stood, looking at me.

"Because, I'm fighting for a lady." I was still shocked, but I narrowed my eyes.

"FUCK YOU EMIL." Peri punched him in the face... really hard. Knocking him onto the pavement.

Wait EMIL? They knew eachother?

He laughed, standing again "So feisty, when did you get so angry~" Emil was definitely the cocky type, and I'm kindof glad Peri had come.

"Somewhere between you robbing me of everything and finding something new to fight for." Her words surprised me. So Emil ... took something?

Emil wiped more blood off his lip and smiled. "I robbed nothing. I just took what was mine." He glanced At me. "And I'm going to do it again" At this, he tackled Peri and started hitting her with all his might, she looked like she was blocking, but I wasn't sure.

I wanted to help her, but I had no idea what to do. I was almost frozen in fear. Peri though, clearly knew what she was doing. She pushed Emil off with a yell and kicked him in the stomach. And then... silence.

They were talking... but I couldn't make out much, until Emil spoke louder.

"...FREAK. YOU'RE A MONSTER!" Peri kicked him in the stomach. Again and again. I could only watch....

"YOU HAD SO MUCH ALREADY." EMIL was yelling now, and Peri kicked harder, causing her to half trip and stumble back.

I was surprised again when Emil sat up, all those kicks would've stopped me.

"You are nothing." He grunted, standing wobbly in front of peridot.

"You belong where you are. Because you HAD to do the right thing. You HAD to break OUR PROMISE."

There was a short pause, before peridot spoke, her voice was firm but soft.... was she... crying again?

"FUCK you. Fuck you Emil. Go home.go on, run home and tell dad."

"I hate you...Brother."

I stared in shock. No wonder they looked so similar, they were siblings!  I didn't move though, and I heard another grunt, looking up, I saw peridot pushing Emil away.

"Go home, brother." She pushed him one last time, roughly, then made her way back. She looked up slightly at me, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.

Or maybe it was a rain drop.

She stopped just in front of me. I had been right, half dried tears stained her face, as well as what looked like a black eye. I raised my hand, but quickly lowered it.

I took her hand and began to lead her inside. To a bathroom... I had to clean her face or something....

She said nothing, but I could hear her heavy breaths behind me. Almost panting.

I pushed into the bathroom. Conveniently, no one was there. I let go of Peri and went to the sink. I splashed my face with water, sighing.

"Are... are you okay?" I looked up, and her eyes wore worry.

I scoffed. "I'm not the one that got punched." I sighed again, rubbing my face before turning to face her completely. "But... yeah... i...im fine."

She looked down, but I grabbed her chin and made her look back at me. "Are YOU okay?" She didn't say anything for a moment, then she shrugged.

I sighed again. Okay. She's still stubborn. I moved and grabbed some paper towells and wet them, lifting up her face again.

"Let me clean your face." I said it a little more sternly then I planned, but she nodded, standing up straight again as i ran the towell over her face. It had gotten surprisingly dirty, even for a fight.

I finished, then grabbed a few dry ones and handed them to her. She took them, remaining silent, and wiped off any water on her face. But her eyes were still a little red from crying.

I felt my heart aching. Say something... please... anything... I want to forgive you...

And to my surprise, she did say something. But not what I expected, at all.

"I get it. I understand you hate me. I'm sorry." She shivered, and my eyes widened as she pushed the door open.

"Goodnight, lapis."
