Lapis POV

After Peri finally convinced me to go to... intarragate... Casper, I ended up just laying on my bed.

God it has been almost a week since I last saw him. I didn't WANT to see him again. Sober or otherwise, he seemed like an all around asshole. He almost killed Peri!

The thought made me angry.

Then again...

no.

I instantly felt guilty for the thought. Peri being injured was an excellent excuse to get closer to her.. We... sort-of cuddled...

I sighed. I wanted to hold her again. I wanted to watch her smile, make her laugh until those beautiful green eyes cried with joy like they had when I had called her Peri. She seemed genuinely happy for the first time, and the thought that I might never see that again scared me.

I slapped my face. Here I was, wishing for something that would never happen, for multiple reasons.

1. I had no way to know if she liked girls.
2. She was a rule follower, and according to the Agency handbook which I attained through... *cough* sources, two people working together could not be in a relationship.
3. She made it clear on day 1 that she wasn't thrilled at me following her.

I could go on but... ugh I needed to get ready. I hopped up, focusing on something... anything else beside Peri.

I finally ended up thinking about food. I was so hungry. Maybe Peri would let us stop and eat before we go to see Casper.

Ugh. Casper. I was mildly irritated when guys hit on me, but when he did it I was really upset. Maybe it was because he didn't stop, maybe it was because he had like 6 other girls when we met.

Or maybe it was because Peri was there.

I felt myself blush, then I rubbed my face. NO. STOP IT.

I turned the dial and shivered as the cold water hit me. Alright, that's better.

I got out and looked at my phone. 10 minutes till Peri said she'd be here. I was happy when she wanted me to come with her. We had not seen eachother in person for at least three days.

It felt like forever.

I slipped on something I thought Casper wouldn't care about. Just a gray tee and a dark blue hoodie. Along with some jeans. I slipped on my (also gray) shoes and sat on my couch.

I looked at my phone again. 3 minutes. Not too long.

---------------------------------------------

30 minutes. That's how long I waited. I started losing hope that Peri would even come, but I heard a knock on my door and hopped up. I ran to the door, then stopped.

Calm down, be casual. I opened it with a relaxed smile to see...

My smile faded. It was Peri, but here face... She looked... dead... her once bright eyes were cold and her lips were straight..

It was almost a bored expression.... but... different. It worried me even more when she spoke.

"Sorry I'm late."

She gave nothing more then turned. Walking down toward a... car? What happened to her bike? I was shocked, and when she turned, raising an eyebrow, I stepped out, locking my door.

What was happening... She was acting strange and I couldn't help but raise a worried brow at her. We were staring at eachother again.

She gave a small frown. "What? Is something wrong?"

She sounded so cold... almost enough to make me shiver.

"No... I uh... sorry it's just, you look... uh... different. What happened to your... bike?" I stuttered so much. I actually felt a little scared.

"I have a car too. Figured it would be easier. C'mon, get in." The last part sounded a bit more like her, but I was still worried.

Something was wrong.
