Me.]
Peridot POV.
I maneged to stop shaking, and I faked sleep, letting lapis fall asleep before me. When I felt she was was sleeping soundly, I gently got up, careful not to wake her.
I went straight to the bathroom, and I rinsed my face. I sighed as i looked at myself. My eyes were red from tears, and my cheeks were stained.
"Idiot..." I splashed my face a couple more times, then grabbed a towell. I wiped my face off, then sat against the bathroom counter.
I felt my eyes flutter in exhaustion, and I leaned my head back against the cabinets.
I sat there for awhile, though I don't really know how long, until i heard a creak from the living room and a faint, "peridot?"
I gulped and rubbed my eyes, standing and walking out to find lapis stretching her arms up. I felt a shiver run down my spine at her slim body...
I shook my head, walking closer and around the couch. She turned, seeing me. "Oh..." Her eyes softened a bit.
Everything about lapis still confused me. Most things she did half annoyed me, and half made me love her. And her eyes were doing just that.
She gave a small smile, and took a deep breath. "How long have you been awake?"
I shrugged. "Not long." She kept her warm smile, but I saw how disbelief flashed in her eyes.
She sighed and stepped forward, leaning down and kissing my cheek. "It's okay." I felt a little blood rush to my face, and my lips curled into a small smile.
"You...you make it better. I'm fine now. I promise." I wrapped my arms around her neck, and she makes a small happy humming noise while wrapping hers around my torso.
"Well. I don't know about you, but I'm craving some eggs. And this time I'M cooking." She giggled a bit and pulled out of the hug, walking around the couch and into the kitchen.
I smiled for a few more seconds, but it faded. She can't know the whole truth. Not yet. But how am I supposed to keep it from Her?

Lapis POV.
[TIMESKIP]
We walked together into the Agency building, me with my notepad and her with a coffee.
"I think Taz, her friend is a good suspect. If youre right about it being someone she knew." I chewed the end of my pen and glanced at Peri.
She nodded. "I think we can clear the mother. You can't fake that kind of distraught. Not for that long. She's been trying to get the cops to get on it for years now."
I nodded as well. "And... well. I guess we need to start finding out who else she knew." I pause for a second. I turned.
"Do... do you really think Casper is innocent?" As much as I would like the guy to be, He hurt my peridot.
"I... I don't know. But this is a good lead. Kinda..." She took a sip of coffee and we stepped into the elevator. "It's all we got. And... I hope he is."
I lowered my notepad, and glanced around the elevator. There were two younger female agents.
Ok... I moved and brushed peridots hand. She froze, but I saw a small smile form on her face. I loved doing that. It was like a signal. A small sort of public affection that no one could see.
It also made me smile seeing peridot respond. She would smile cutely, and her eyes would glimmer, even if she didn't mean for them too.
The elevator opened and I followed her to her office. I smiled and sat on the edge of her desk as she sat down. She shook her head while smiling. "Dork."
I huffed. "Nerd."
She opened her mouth to retort but the door opened and Amy strolled in. "Ah if it ain't the dynamic duo. Morning."
I smiled. "Morning amy." Peridot sipped on her coffee one more time and sat it down. "What's up?"
Amy smiled. "Well, I think you'll be happy to know I found something for you." I lowered my brows and glanced back at Peri, who had the same reaction.
"What do you mean?" Peridot stood up while keeping one hand on her desk.
Amy smirked."go down to the lab. Talk to Emma Ralston. She has some DNA evidence which yours truly found. It may or may not be linked to the case."
Peridots eyes sparkled and she sped around the desk, stopping at the door. "Amy you will either be the best or the worst today, thanks!" She took off down the hall, leaving me and Amy giggling.
We both calmed down, and I sighed.
Amy turned around, her smile fading slightly.
"You and Peridot, huh?" I froze, feeling the blood flush from my face. "Wha...what?"
Her face stayed serious as she walked to the door, and just before she left, she smiled. "Secrets safe with me." She giggled and whispered:
"I ship it..."
before ducking out and closing the door, leaving me a blushing mess.
Is this good or bad?
