Whatcha talkin bout?

Enjoy some fluff and sadness ;-;]

Lapis POV.

What bothered me most about peridot being alone in that room with Casper is that I couldn't hear a word they were saying.

Reading lips had never been a skill, but I made out a few things.

Peridot had asked about ally, but that was obvious.

But casper had said sorry... from what I could tell, at least. He seemed diffrent. Not that I trusted him.

I couldn't help but smile a bit when I saw peridot look down slightly. I could practicly see her mind working.

I felt so much better when she left that room. I went to the hallway and found her tapping her foot while nervously chewing her nail and looking off to someplace I doubt I'd ever know.

"Peridot?" I walked a bit closer. I knew she was in thought. Obviosly, but I really didn't want to stay here any longer.

She glanced up, and moved her hand away from her face. "Oh. Right, uh... you ready to go?" I nodded, but gave her a confused look.

"Did something happen in there?" She sighed.

"Just... I kindof want to trust him... is that bad? He gave me a lead, I suppose... and he acted different."

"Not bad... what did he say?" I asked curiously.

"That he feels bad and hope we find her. And that when he met her, that night she disappeared, her car was locked and she was gone." She tapped her foot again.

"She locked it then?" I was confused. Why would she wait outside her car?

"I know... i... I think someone else was there. More likely someone she either knew, or thought she knew. And maybe they lured her away?" She looked back at me. Her green eyes looked distressed.

"But I also hate to think that, because her mother is nice... and distraught... plus this is identified with almost 40 other kidnappings..." she rubbed her temples. "I guess at least it's a start..."

I sighed and smiled. "Maybe we should just get back to your place. You look like you need to relax. Don't pop a vein on me." I giggled slightly.

She smiled too, shaking her head. "Oh I've dealt with worse. But yeah... I really want to get home... and tomarrow I'll start putting together a suspect list."

We walked out of the facility, peridot still obviosly thinking about everything, when her phone rang.

She stopped, doing her familier growl of annoyance.

"God not... ugh." She swiped. "How many times are you gonna call me until you realise I don't care about anything you have to say?"

I paused, wondering who she was yelling at. Though i had a pretty good idea. I crossed my arms and peri gave a small nod.

But her face changed.

"What do you mean?"

She looked frozen. "Wh... wait hold on, this is stupid. Why would he... no I don't want to see him!"

I changed my own face to a worried one.

Peridot was a bit angry now. "You and him have both betrayed me, ok? Stop calling, and tell him I don't care about what he has to say."
