[A/n Part one of Christmas update you beautiful sinners. It's about 9:10 so it's earlier than I thought I'd be publishing, but whatever. I think I'll post the 2nd chapter in about an hour.]
Lapis POV
I stepped out of the cab, looking out over the bright lights coming from the warehouse. Name a color and I could assure you there was a light there for it.
I bit my lip again, a little nervous. Amy had said business types... all I knew were business Stereotypes. Blue collar, snotty, suit and tie... I let out a sigh.
Surely Amy wouldn't have invited me if it was like that... she was definitely more of a rager type. Though I assumed she could dress up nice if the opportunity arise.
I walked down the steps and up to the entrance, where a buff, bald guy was standing. His arms were crossed, but as soon as he saw me he placed one forward.
"Invitatation?" I chuckled nervously and was about to pull it out when a familier shout came from inside.
"Yo door man, let my friend in!" The man turned, looking at what I assumed was a smiling Amy, attempting to look innocent. He looked back at me and I held up the invite, he sighed.
"Go in then." He made a gesture and I nodded in a nervous thank you. That man was intimadating... a hand came down on my shoulder and I turned to see a tipsy Amy.
She chuckled. "Glad you could... uh... make it... Laz, what... what took ya... so long" she didn't stutter, as if drunk, but she said her words slow. Enough to make me laugh back.
"Sorry, had a little trouble... finding the place. Also, do you know that guy?" I pointed to the bouncer, and she shook her head.
"Nah, but he is a buff hottie huh?" She smiled and laughed, leaning on me. She stood back up and handed me her drink.
"Hey... I uh... I've had enough. I'm gonna go dance, and uh.." she stopped, looking around, as if for someone. "Maybe it'd be best if you go to the... the bar! Yeah, talk to some people or something..."
I raised my eyebrow but she didn't care and just wandered off toward the dance floor. I shrugged and looked at the drink in my hand. It was some fancy fruity thing, and I was confused why she had bought it, I thought she'd be more into.... well I don't know.
I made my way slowly over to the bar, taking in the scene. Amy had been right, mostly business types, some standing and talking, some lounging, and some looked drunk and were hitting on others.
I finally made it to the bar and set the drink Amy had given me on it, but didn't summon the bartender. I wasn't thirsty. I was still looking around when the barkeep was in front of me, setting a salted martini glass in front of me.
"I..."
"Didn't order it? I'm aware. He did." The guy pointed down to a young looking blonde man. We made eye contact and his eyes were green...
I almost gasped. This guy had a striking resemblance to peridot. Only his hair was, of course, shorter, and his jaw sharper.
Plus, I would know Peri's eyes anywhere. I suddenly cursed under my breath as i saw him moving toward me.

Peri's POV
I fixed my black bow tie slightly, and straightened my dark grey jacket. I had to admit, this suit fit well. My dad had bought it for me when I applied to a tech company once, as a summer job, and somehow, it still fit.
I smirked. I looked real good. And I was not one for bragging about clothes. My usaul wear consisted of black agency uniforms, tee shirts, and either jeans or sweats.
I heard a knock, and knew who it was. Amy was found on the opposite side of the door, smiling. It faded a bit and her eyes widened when she saw me.
" Wow, P! A suit? Thats... wow you look amazing!" I smirked again.
"See me as a lady's lady?" She busted out laughing while I chuckled. And she grabbed my hand.
"Alright, alright. Dork, tonight we are having fun. I'm glad you actually said yes!" I shrugged, tilting my head while still smiling.
"You wouldn't shut up about this party, and I have nothing better to do..." she turned, putting her hand on her chest and gasping, all part of her fake shock routine.
"Peri, oh I thought you were going because you thought it would be fun! Nothing better to do... you wound me with your words..." I chuckled again as she put the back of her hand on her face to add extra drama.
"Okay are we gonna actually go, or are you gonna start reciting shakespheare?" She grinned evily and got down on one knee.
"Two households, both alike in dignity... " i slapped a hand over her mouth, laughing.
"Alright, Juliet. Move your fat butt or I'm gonna change my mind." She stood back up and grabbed my hand again. Leading me to the stairs and down.
[Timeskip, because I'm lazy AF]
The party was definitely different then I had pictured, but was thrilling none the less. People in dresses and suits dancing, men talking and women giggling.
But the bar caught my eye.
"I'll just go get a drink, okay?" I was taking a step forward when Amy pulled me back.
"P, just don't do what you did last time. Also, you'll STAY at the bar right?" I gave her a puzzled look then rolled my eyes.
"You're not my mother, let go. But yes, I'll be there. And I won't." I wasn't promising to not get drunk, but instead to not throw a drink at the bartender and slap a guy that hit on me.
She nodded and let go, moving to sit next to 2 familier faces.
One was Steven, dressed up in a vest suit, sipping on what I assumed to be something non alcoholic, and Gina, a bartender from the gem.
I guess she knew them. Whatever. I made my way to the bar and asked for some scotch. It would taste horrible, but get me drunk quick.
30 minutes later and I felt great. I was in that strange, rare middle, where I was buzzed, but not blurred. Two guys had came and hit on me, and I turned them down. They walked off all sad but I didn't care.
I took another shot then smiled. I turned and it instantly faded. A familier black haired girl was at the end of the bar... talking to...
Oh hell no.
[ A/N ooooo who could lapis be talking to? (Wiggles brows)]
