Peri's POV.

As I walked into the home, lapis following me, I glanced around. Pictures of a small short haired girl filled it.

That must be Allie, the victim.

Ms. Roland motioned to a sofa "please, please have a seat..." I sat down. Lapis made her way to a small.... loveseat? She sat and took out a small notebook. She began reading her "notes" and i watched as she chewed on the small pen that was in it.

Me. Roland came back, carrying a paper.

She handed it to me, a blank expression on her face. "I thought you might want to read these." I flipped it open.

It was... text messages?

I looked up questioningly, and she answered.

"It's between Allie and her ex... I never liked that boy. He was too violent."

I nodded, glancing at lapis, who was looking at the paper in my hands.

As I read through them, the texts from the boy got meaner, angrier. Clearly he was jealous, Allie had been hanging out with...

I froze. Taz winters, another victim. I let a small gasp escape me, and I stood up, pointing at his name.

"Allie knew Taz Winters?" Ms.Roland seemed confused but nodded. Then her face changed.

"Oh... he was another one missing wasn't he? I almost... I almost forgot." She looked up, a tear streaming down her face. "He was nicer to my Allie, I pray for them."

I wanted to say prayer is pointless, but this woman was stressed, and she had lost her child.

I had to help.

I glanced over to lapis, nodding for her to get up. She walked over and stood behind me.

"Do you know where we can find this Ex?"

She thought for a moment. "No... Casper is graduated now, independent. Though..."

She paused. "He liked to go to a club on Crystal street... "The Gem", I think it's called. Only on weekends as far as I know."

I nodded, and turned. Lapis had scribbled it down, and looked up at me, nodding.

"Thank you for this information, ms. Roland. This is very helpful." I was about to turn and leave, but she grabbed me into a hug, and being taller than me, I was almost crushed.

"No..." she said, tears falling onto my shoulder. "Thank YOU... I thought that my Allie would be forgotten... bless you... bless you, you're so kind to take my daughter's case..."

She was full blown crying on my shoulder now. I couldn't move, and not only because of her death grip. This woman was living alone, and had lost the only person she loved. I couldnt...

No. I COULD imagine. I found myself hugging back.

I must find this girl.
