Peri's POV
I opened the door and let Steven and... Lapis, out. I left behind them and walked past them, going to my office.
I wanted to be angry. I wanted to hit something. Of course, with my luck, of course I'd get stuck with a journalist.
I growled in annoyance as i leaned back in my chair. I breathed heavily.
No. Just calm down.
Its... okay. I just have to... set some rules? Or maybe she just won't bother me unless necessary.
I sighed, closing my eyes.
I sat there for maybe 2 minutes when I heard my door open. Ugh. Why now?
"I'm not in the mood for bad puns or your attempts at cheering me up, amy... not today..."
I heard the a few foot steps and my door close, so I opened my eyes. It wasn't Amy, it was lapis.
"Sorry... I dont... really... do puns...." she gave me a small smile and i blushed.
She was so.... God what's wrong with me. I looked down, rubbing my face. It was an awkward silence, and I heard her shuffle her feet.
GOD what am I doing.
I stood. Walking over to her.
I stopped infront of her. And extended my hand, straight. "NO, i... I'm the one who should be sorry. I was a little rude yesterday..."
She looked a little shocked, glancing from my hand to my face. I couldn't believe I managed to do this.
I suddenly felt her hand grab mine, it was gentle, and though her hand was a little cold, it was soft. I looked up at her, and she grinned.
"I did knock on your door at 8:00 at night"
She giggled. I realized our hands were still together, so I pulled mine away. I was grinning. Why was I grinning?
"I.... I guess we're...partners?" She said. Looking a little unsure.
That was when all my previous questions came to me, I looked up at her.
"How'd you even get that to WORK? It's not everyday a journalist gets into the agency, let alone assigned a case."
She giggled again. "A journalist never reveals her secrets" and then she gave me a wink. Her smile plastered to her face .
I tilted my head, "I thought that was for magicians."
She laughed, and I crossed my arms. I asked what was so funny and she attempted to stop, but laughed for a while longer before stopping.
"Sorry its... nothing" I raised an eyebrow at her dopey grin.
I gave a small shrug, what a weirdo. I sighed and went back to my desk, placing my hands on top.
"I hope you realize that this won't be very interesting right away..." I wanted to make her understand.
"I dont have very much to go on, and it takes time..." I sat down and was about to start working when I noticed she was on the corner of my desk.
"I'm a patient person." I let a smile spread across my face. Almost letting out a short laugh as i picked up a random paper.
She soon got up and made her way to a sortof small sofa in the corner. While I turned my attention to the case.
