Lapis POV.

I still had no clue where i was. But the sudden opening of the box i was in scared and blinded me, as a rough hand pulled me out. My legs collapsed from standing so long, so i ended up on my knees.

The hand grabbed my hair, and suddenly a blindfold was over my eyes, and my hands were tied around my back. I was then pulled back up, and led away.

I forced myself not to start breathing heavily, relaxing my arms to avoid injury, and just trying to keep up with whoever was leading me. Eventually i was pulled through a door, and i felt wind on my face.

Thats when i panicked, dragging my heels. My mind went to dark places, like they might be about to throw me off a building. My struggling slowed the movement, but the man just grunted and tugged harder, pulling me around and pushing me to my knees while i swallowed dryly.

"Lapis...?" A quiet voice came from my right, but before i could turn my head someone grabbed my face.

"I have to say, you and your little girlfriend have been a nuisance. You just couldnt leave it be, could you?" Whoever it was released my chin and i stiffened.

"I know she didnt get far, but making progress is too much. Cant have that, can i? But... im a genorous guy... so i gave her a choice. She's completed only half of it as im aware. If she decides to complete the rest, youll be free to go."

"Why are you telling me this? Wha... who ARE you?" I paused for a second, lowering my voice and growling. "Youre behind all the kidnappings, arent you?" I stiffened at the sudden silence, and just as i gulped, I was slapped, HARD.

It sent my face to the left, and i felt a slight tear well up from the sting.

"Just take her back." He said sharply, and i was pulled back up, and only heard a light grumble as i was pushed back inside.

Peridot POV.

It didnt take much fory brother to come inside the room, standing oppisite me and finally fixing his god awful posture. "Whats going on, dad?"

The man sat up a bit, sighing and smiling. "Youve known for awhile that i wasnt going to survive this. I... i just wanted to inform you on my will."

I clenched the bars on the side of the bed. "Inform us of what?"

He looked at me confused. "Inheritance, honey... you know i have so many assets... what would i do with it if not give it to my children?"

"I dont want it." I said firmly, looking at him. I softened my gaze softly at his surprise, then looked down. "I just... im not a bussiness woman. And i dont want your money. I dont wanna be rich by someone else. I never wanted to be rich PERIOD."

I looked back up, glancing between both of them. "Emil would be a better head of the company..."

"I know that. I knew you never wanted that. Thats why i..." he smiled, then looked back up to me. "I put you as co owners. He will handle the business part... and i do believe there is need for a head of security. You wont get the money free, but if you ever needed it, it would be there. Ive already allighned all the legal parts of how that works."

I opened my mouth to object, but he rested his hand on mine. "I heard about the agency. And... your friend. Im not forcing this on you this moment, peridot... but i want you to have something when im gone."

I closed my eyes, shaking a bit at the reminder. "How did you..."

"Emil told me... a bit of it, at least. Im so sorry." I laughed, pulling my hand away and rubbing my face.
