Cath's eyes fluttered open, vision blurred; hearing muffled.

"Cather."

She heard Levi's voice in the distance.

She was so tired.

"Hmm." She rolled on her stomach, hoping that if she did, the world would go away and she could go back to sleep.

"Wren's awake."

She could almost feel the grin on his face. She sprung out of the bed, haphazardly flinging around her IV, which was now disconnected. Feeling awkward, she moved over to the chair by Wren's bed and sat down.

"Hey." Wren's voice was groggy and dry.

"Hey old lady."

"uhg." Wren grunted.

"What? Are you okay? Are you in pain? Are you-"

Wren cut her off, "I'M FINE. Jesus Christ."

"Well then why did you grunt?"

"I was just thinking of the ASSHOLE TRUCK DRIVER THAT WAS IN OUR LANE."

"Oh, Yeah. That."

Breaking the awkward silence, their nurse, Shelly, scurried in, a smile on her face. Of course, Levi smiled back.

"Ladies, I have great news! Cath, you can leave soon, we just need you to fill out some important paperwork. And for Wren's health, she unfortunatley has to stay another day. But don't worry, she'll be out by tomorrow evening! Oh, and Cath, as standard procedure, you must be taken to your car in a wheelchair. Also, according to your injury report, you are required to take one home with you, free of charge. You don't have to use it, but if you have pain, you are strongly advised to do so. If you have pain and you don't use the wheelchair, well, let's just say your injuries will get much worse."

"Okay," Cath replied.

"Thanks." Levi grinned, but concern still dominated the upper half of his face.

Shelly handed Cath a clip board, and went over the usual procedures. You know, the, 'sign here, here, here, initials here' bullcrap.

"Be back in 5!" She scurried back out of the room, similar to a mouse, hurring to get cheese back to it's family.

Cath scanned the documents and signed in all the required places, then showed it to Levi to make sure all was good.

"Yep, looks right to me." He smiled. She wished more than anything to have a moment alone with Levi, (maybe a little bit more than a moment) but the bruises covering her arms and legs shattered her hopes. Maybe tomorrow.

Levi turned to Wren. "Hey, mind if we go out for some breakfast? We'll sneak you some food."

"Sure, no problem!" Wren smiled and Levi turned, starting to walk.

"Hey...Levi?"

"Yes?"

"On your way out...Could you tell Jandro that he can come in? They told him he couldn't come in before, because my injuries were worse than Cath's, and they didn't want any, 'traumatic stress'."

"Sure thing."

"Thanks!" Wren smiled, her lips dreadfully chapped.

Cath crossed over to Wren, and pulled out her favorite chapstick, Burt's Bees. She gently smeared it on Wren's lips with the stick, and then gave her a big smooch, right on the lips.

"Mwah!" Cath smiled, and Wren did too. No matter what happened, they always seemed to find a silver lining, as long as they were together.

"Love you!"

"Love you too!"

and with that, Levi wheeled Cath to the changing room.
