It had been some time since Wells died, but Aella was still crushed. She didn't know what to think; she was angry, sad, and emotionless. It took a toll on her, but she wouldn't admit it. Murphy was with her through it all, allowing her to cry on his shoulder and sparred with her when she needed to let out her anger.

In the morning, she wanted to distract herself, so she climbed up the dropship roof and tried to fix the communication panels as best as she could. She made as many substitution parts out of drop ship metal as possible. When she finally gave up, she checked up on Monty's Ark communication attempts with the wristbands, but Clarke was inside taking hers off.

"What the hell is this, Clarke?" Aella asked, concerned more than angry. "Weren't you the one who yelled at everyone for taking their wristbands off?"

"Yes!" Monty exclaimed in victory. "I did it! It's still operational."

"Monty needed a working wristband," Clarke explained.

"And you needed to punish your mother," Finn interjected.

"Look, they're running out of air and we need their help. My mother thinking I'm dead is only temporary."

"Not if I can't patch it through the drop ship mainframe," Monty said. "I can do it. We'll be talking to the Ark by nightfall."

"I love you, you awesome nerd!" Aella said, ruffling Monty's hair.

"Hey, you're an engineer too, nerd."

"I'm a shitty engineer, Monty. You've got skills." She ruffled his hair one more time before exiting the dropship and witnessing her best friend piss on some dehydrated kid. Then she walked out to the gate and found Jasper and Octavia.

"Hey there," Jasper greeted Aella carefully as if she was the one who was injured.

"You don't have to walk on eggshells around me," she said bluntly. Quickly deciding to change the topic, she asked, "How are you feeling, Jasper?"

They made it to the gate and Jasper was hesitant to go any further.

"Look," Octavia said softly. "We're already there. Just a few steps, okay? One foot in front of the other." She noticed he wasn't going to follow. "What's wrong?"

"Hmm?" he said, acting like he didn't hear her. "Oh, nothing. I'm good."

"Jasper, it's been a week, okay? You've been given a second chance. You've gotta use it." She began waltzing out and, suddenly, she disappeared.

"Octavia?" Jasper called out, worriedly.

"Octavia, don't be funny," Aella threatened. "I swear, I'll-"

Octavia stood up angrily, shoving the idiot that thought it would be funny to scare Jasper. "Hey, jerk!" Octavia shouted. "Get the hell out of here!"

Aella helped her friend up and walked back to Jasper. "You okay there, bud?" she asked.

"Jasper, come on," Octavia beckoned. "There's nothing to be afraid of."

He walked slowly but didn't get far before he tripped and fell.

"Jasper, what's wrong?"

Aella caught sight of the knife and Wells's fingers before Octavia and held back a shriek before wrapping the knife and fingers in a cloth with her shaky hands.

"We need to get this to Bellamy," Octavia concluded.

"What would he do?" Aella asked. "Seriously, how could he help? He didn't like Wells all too much, so what makes you think he'd be willing to help us find the killer?"
